This is my problem with how it's being handled. Trying to spread word-of-mouth to delete some one-time gained items that have nil effect on the server is a tremendous waste of energy. People are going to get banned, appeal on the forums, and take up time for case reviews. These people would likely end up with the items when the quests are fixed any way.
I'm not affected by it, but there's a point where the GM team should just cut their losses and let it ride. Trying to enforce a blunder that has virtually no impact on stability, gameplay, or the economy is just giving themselves a headache for the sake of having a headache.
