This is good news. Nostalrius is very different from the rest of the Vanilla realms, but to have the iconic items like the bow of ancient keepers, and the staff of benediction missing when they were added at such an early time was strange.

The patch 1.4 is a good point to base it off.

This is a progressive item server. You signed up for it fully knowing so. Currently content and item wise (including quests with said item) we are at patch 1.2 (most recent release then: Maraudon).
Next release is Dire Maul (patch 1.3)
And then BWL (patch 1.6)
Logically somewhere between there, patch 1.4 and 1.5 happens, which are pvp content that we already have, so for Nostalrius the logical thing to release then would be the patch 1.4 major item updates and also the numerous new quests with new items in patch 1.5. And then there's also a lot of item updates later such as patch 1.10.
