I'll probably be going Horde to help balance things out. Alliance seems a bit more populated judging by their recruitment forum.

I definitely want to be on the side with better pvp ques / wpvp. I know think that this will be unbalanced though because horde will que more for bg's (less que times on alliance) but alliance will have less wpvp because of population. I hate the indecision!!! we need more people to vote!

was thinking alliance but it seems horde will actually be outnumbered here. Was also planning rogue but all the test sessions made me realize i just dont like vanilla rogue.
Now im back to square one.

Alliance have more activity in their guild forums because it's the de-facto PvE tryhard faction (at least for Vanilla). However looking at every poll there seems to be a slight Horde bias, Horde has also seemingly outnumbered Alliance in every test where there's been BGs open, at least during EU prime-time.
It seems most of the NA players choose Alliance.

I don't know why, but I find myself agreeing with Karmacode, here. It's become a trend for me where I see more Hordies, but much more successful Alliance guilds or clans.
Now I know that isn't always the case, but just from the early, even pre-release look on the forums here, we can see there's a lot more enthusiasm on the Alliance side, at least raiding wise. (Also a clear sign in the tests so far. The alliance side has been FAR more successful in terms of progress and actually showing up, than the random PuG horde sides).

but alliance has mature characters to play so usually good raiding guilds go there

It's at least a little bit true, a lot of kids choose horde because that's where the scary monsters and edgy zombies are.

On the flip side though, a lot of kids wanted to play as an elf or a dwarf when vanilla launched because of LOTR hype.

In my experience, horde seems to have more kids and stoners while alliance tends to have more tryhards and erpers. There's great players on both sides, just have to pick your poison.
