If you don't mind my asking, what was your exact head count? I was on my Hunter at the time and estimated almost 3 full raid groups.

One more question, is it being able to have toons on both sides of the aisle what tipped the Alliance off to the attack? Or something else? Either way, bravo for the organization and patience. Next goal is making it more than 1/2 way up the ramp to IF.

In my experience, with the numbers the Horde had - would have worked just fine. However being clued into the attack coming, there was a proper defense.

Your estimate is very accurate! We had about 160 hordes joining us

To be completely honest I find most enjoyment in just organizing and participating, it doesn't have to be a city-kill or theoretically benefital (HK's and such) - It's just fun and madness! IF ramp is super hard to make a proper attack on, alliance had traps on the way leading up to the entrance of IF that we had to deal with!

Word spreads well on this server - which I love! It wouldn't be fun if we stomped Ironforge and this proves that it will take a lot more than what we had!

I think next raid will be on Stormwind, it's much more open and brings back some good old memories

Word spreading well is a positive and negative. Were I in your shoes, would have preferred a little more successful operation. That said, I haven't seen a large scale raid attempt up the ramp since 2007. I couldn't stop smiling just from the nostalgia of it.

And I'm not falling for the SW line, I know that means you'll go for IF again.

Who doesn't love a major city invasion win or lose, attack or defend? Clearly the horde lost but they were having an enjoyable time doing it from the sound of it. If everyone was risk adverse, there wouldn't be any large scale encounters like this.
