You relog to your Rogue alt, who is named "Hombre" and looks like one of those Latin-American Chicano gangsters. Use the anger that you feel while being ganked to fuel the leveling process of Hombre. The result will be a rage fueled rogue and by the time you reach 60 just by leveling after being ganked, you will have conditioned yourself subconsciously to enter wrath mode just by seeing that rogue on the character screen. And then, when you log in on him, you will make the other faction feel the pain - every single particle of your held back anger. Because you will have the drive and will to camp those bitches for days straight, spamming "Que pasa, my friend?" macros all over.

If I'm getting ganked, I'll just afk while dead for like 10 minutes to grab a snack, take the dog out to piss, do some dishes, wack off...whatever really. The ganker gets bored and leaves.

sarcasm aside there isn't a choice anymore, wouldn't it make more sense for them to make this server pve? that way the people who want to play the game for the original purpose that it was made for can, and anyone who wants to pvp can simply put the pvp flag on, everyones happy.

Open world PvP is about winning, by any means necessary. Usually it's non-consentual. It doesn't matter what the matchup is, what numbers are involved, or what your starting HP is. An enemy rogue or any other class has the option of choosing their moment to strike, there is nothing fair or even about that, and that's the way it should be. That's the very definition of open world PvP.

It's up to you to be creative enough to find a way to either avoid the gank, or to win. Make friends, quest in a group, hide a stealthed rogue alt near you, ask for help, counter-gank, bait the ganker into guards, make sure your trinkets are off CD, don't eat/drink out in the open, don't pull too many mobs at once, be strategic.

If you win, great work, well played. Enjoy your victory. If you lose, good fight. That's the only reaction you should ever give to any PvP, consentual or otherwise. Good fight, well played, king's to you. See you in the field next time.

Losing a non-consentual fight in WoW is virtually meaningless. You lose nothing but perhaps a few buffs and some time, maybe a few silver in repairs. None of that is worth any reaction outside of a simple "Good fight".
