In this case or in the OP's case, nobody mentioned how much gold he or the other person has. The guy wanting to propose might very well be a rich guy just wanting to save some money and for the other guy the money from selling the ring could have been his year's salary. The point being, the item in both cases is a luxury obtainable by money/gold. Both sides have their own use for the money gained, or in the other case money not spent. Bottom line is, there should always be an agreement upon these things, otherwise there is no moral problem in needing high value BoEs.

NEED = using
Icons say it all, anyone who presses need on item for gold coins is a ninja. The only acceptable NEED is when someone wants to ninja and you NEED to try and get the item and then roll/give it to the one who wins/needs it.
