This is EXACTLY right. And mining nodes in a circuit isn't bannable either, that's also about as ridiculous of a thought as can be. Except that they did in fact do just that.

The right answer was just as you suggest - just nerf those methods as they see fit to control whatever it is they want to control. No one should be banned for playing the game normally, which is what these players were doing.

dmt generated gold at an insane rate so it directly influenced the global economy.

silithus just had a couple of miners getting filthy rich off abusing a bug. not something everyone on the server could do like dmt (though u had to bother wasting a month lvling a hunter alt if u didn't main one) cuz it was still bound by timers, controlled by those few abusers.

I think you're delusional. DMT didn't mess up the economy, the 7k people did. Gold inflation in a low material market.

Sili had a lot of miners who got insane amounts of arcane crystals, but I'm sure most haven't been banned, just the unlucky five who happened to farm on the day a GM watched. And anyone could have contested those mines via pvp.

Cannot find that post of mine anywhere in this thread, and it must be obvious to you that i meant hourly rate, not per run, after my previous reply to you, so this is just a completely moot argument right now.

DMT would mess up the economy no matter high or low pop, get real, u salty hunter.

if there are still abusers left unbanned, then this is unfortunate, and a shame that gm's can't retroactively check who has been mining these nodes on a fixed timer for days or weeks on end. but bannin those people who were doing it at the time of the ban sent out the right message to those taking a break from bug abusing, i guess that's just as good as it gets in this situation.

People need to stop calling these players exploiters.

There is no evidence that a set 45 min respawn timer on oozed covered thorium isnt bliz like. Nothing has been provided to the community to prove why this was deemed an 'exploit'. These 5 players were banned simply because the nost staff decided they wanted to stop the activity and rather than warning/removing gold/crystals they perma banned 5 out of 250 players doing the activity.

I'll say it again so maybe it will get through peoples heads:

There is no evidence that a 45 min respawn timer on oozed covered thorium veins isn't bliz like.

These people are not exploiters, they are people who were farming in the world and got perma banned for performing an action almost all of the player base does.

This is a warning to all of the herbalists who farm Black Lotus/herbs on there timers. To the people farming devilasaurs, to anyone who ever takes note of when a resource/mob is killed to know when to come back and get it the next time. What you are doing is bannable and you should stop or you will be permanently banned without any form of recourse.

This is by far the stupidest thing ive ever seen on a private server, and i played on feenix from its release pretty much. They did some stupid shit, but this takes the cake.

Get some evidence of why you're permanently banning characters please admins.

Ofcourse it's like it was on Blizz servers. There were even addons that kept track of the spawntimer of Ooze covered veins, Lotus and Tubers.

If static spawns didn't exist, gatherer wouldn't exist. Static spawns are very much a blizzlike concept. Randomized spawns are not blizzlike. I remember using a mining route in scholazar basin in lich king, which only worked because the nodes always respawned in the same place.

The point being that, nobody in their right mind would have thought this would be considered exploiting. Wow is a clusterfuck of static respawns and respawn timers, that's just how it works.

I should probably be banned, because I go node fishing all the time, the nodes also have static respawn locations and timers. Is this exploiting too? No one will never know the answer because nost staff is never going to respond to this issue like proper professionals.

I've said a lot of bad stuff at low levels on my main and I'm not banned, so I think you'll be fine.
