This is the best comment in this whole thread.

No but seriously, an admin needs to come in and say something about this whole situation. I believe Witcher, but taking into account all the allegations made in this thread, this whole situation seems very fishy.

Honest question, are you dumb? Where was it ever implied we wanted a statement about this idiot stepping down? We want an administrative response about the abuses of power and other such nonsense. I couldn't give a fuck if he was fired or stepped down; I care about why GMs are abusing their power and no actions are being taken against them to deter them.

Fear3d wrote:It looks like the GM in question is no longer a GM, so why is everyone crying so much? A different GM has made it clear to you that GMs are monitored for abuse of power and dealt with accordingly. Accept that and move on. You aren't entitled to the details of such cases. When have you ever seen Blizzard admins make a post on some forums to say "GM X has been fired as a GM because we caught him abusing his powers!"? You haven't, and it doesn't mean that no Blizzard GM ever abused their powers. It also doesn't mean that they didn't fire GMs when it happened. Simply put, the details of such situations aren't your business. All you need to know is that it's not allowed and such situations are dealt with.

When that happens, it's generally against company policy to go blabbing about the details of the situation to customers or even to other employees. It's simply not something you do. Also, to those of you crying about logs. In no way does Tadbouche's picture suggest that this server doesn't keep logs of commands that GMs use. In fact, I'd say that the opposite is true. It seems pretty clear that the GM was able to locate the log of the situation, because he knew which GM banned the account. All he said is that the reason for the ban wasn't available. That could simply mean that the GM that banned him didn't list a reason. This server is based on a modified version of Mangos, and Mangos has multiple logging systems implemented (including one that logs all GM commands used), so there is no reason to doubt that they are capable of tracking their GMs' actions.

Except this is a private server run by some random dude in his basement. I think people deserve to know about the corrupt shit that may or may not be going on behind the scenes. I sure as hell don't want to be investing tons of time on a server if a small % of people have an unfair advantage, even if the server is free to play on. Its There have been servers in the past where corruption has taken place. Its not like this is a server run by an actual company where its highly unlikely that there would be gm's abusing their power (and if they were they would probably be quickly dealt with).

Think about this: if this gm was doing shit like this then who knows what he might have done in the future? I really don't trust peoples word. People can behave/act in corrupt ways. People can lie. I think some people have brought up some really interesting points in this thread.

Big thanks to all the honest GMs who answer our tickets, fix our broken drops, help us out when we're stuck, basically listen to our shit 24/7, we're not faulting you.

This is an Admin issue, they need to sort their logs and their staff and stop ignoring reports hoping they'll go away. And GMs who are tempted to help out their guild, hoping they won't get caught, well this basically stains your entire guild when these things come to light. Have a bit more respect for your own players and the other 6000 people playing on this server.

Are you dumb? If he was fired for abusing power, then that means that actions are being taken to deter GMs from abusing power. One of this server's staff has already come onto this thread and given you a "response about abuses of power and other such nonsense." So what is it exactly that you're wanting? Do you really need an admin to come hold your hand and apply your Vagisil for you till you're done crying? The suspected party seems to have been punished and can no longer teleport people into raids, and you've received an assurance, from a representative of Nostalrius, that GMs are monitored and punished for abusing their powers. So case closed. Go about your business now. You may think that what you're doing is for the good of the server, but bitching excessively and stirring up a negative mob mentality will likely do more harm than good.
