Cheating is Cheating and should be consider as Cheating that should lead to Perma Ban no matter if that is addon/3rd party program or special code macro.

if nostalrius ban people for abusing veins , then they should perma ban the owner of abusing world bosses detection gaining unfair advantage over other players.

Here staff, which do not play in top guilds btw (don't even think they play at all), just doesn't ban an entire guild because plebs demand it, they go through an actual investigation.
But it is sure this situation needs a clear statement from them now, if allowed then be it, if considered against TOE then sanctions must be taken.

I never said that the whole guild(s) should get sanctioned. I used "they", as in the individuals. And I still don't think we'll see any consequences, even if the use of these "addons" continue.

agree that using keyspammer or script that repeatedly uses /target without player input should be bannable

that's the same as using something to repeatedly press turn right to avoid afk, or repeatedly cast fishing. addons and macros are allowed to provide additional information and streamline commands, but inputting commands without player input is botting.

agree that main accounts using alt accounts to do this should be penalized

agree that an increase in spawnrate of world bosses would be fair considering non-blizzlike population

but, camping the spawns is fine, if you're actually at your computer. competition is competition

The thing is you have to realize addons or macros or w/e aren't even needed and/or used since months. Like you said, competition is competition and so far I've seen more horde bik playurs in BGs than camping spawns.
This thread is just some sort of crusade towards 1 guild because OP and his supporters have a L2P issue/don't show up and would rather try to get competition banned than actually compete as they should pretty much.

So I have this addon which works with the same idea: but it works by a different method, tells your guild/whoever a world boss is up (Azu,kazzak, taerar etc) which is not fooled by pet names (comon NOPE, I expected better), doesn't use autoscripts and does not break any of the rules i've seen mentioned:
Not a bot, doesn't use a macro, doesn't prevent AFK status/disconnect, doesn't modify wow client. Doesn't do some weird target scanning "on every frame rendered".

Just don't multibox it! (I am completely suprised that only the lvl 1 accounts would get banned if the info presented in this thread is accurate. I'm guessing the main accounts got warnings or something as well.)

Following those rules this addon is legit. So legit even NOPE would use it on their mains! Every guild runs bossmods / raiding addons which rely on the same concepts so if this is against the rules.... it'll be a dark time for raiding.

Warning from GM to stop selling/addon is illegal: Not heard anything yet.

Addon wont help someone who doesnt want to put any work into it. Alliance has azu down do 20% when usually first horde show up. Just go have a look around azshara when the spawn time is up and you will always find between 10-20 from NOPE/Coalition sitting there with no horde in sight.

Who cares if they haven't been used for months? Some players from the aforementioned guilds broke the rules without any repercussions, that's it.
There have been multiple incidents of lvl1s getting banned for botting (according to the GMs handling the appeal) some of them even so far to claim it was multiboxing as their "defense" lol.

Regardless of how you wanna justify it, the only penalty they recieved was a ban on easily replaceable lvl1 chars even though their mains was the ones benefitting from it. Comparing that to other nost 'scandals' any reasonable person would agree that it was inconsistent from the GMs.
The fact that people are starting to edit out all the content of their old appeal posts speak volumes.

It's much easier to get people to put in effort when you have a system in place, alongside ways to make it easier for your people.
