The amount of ignorance and witch hunting on these forums is incredible. This is as toxic as a MOBA community.

QFT

use this API call is the same as count down and click the button

...Except on Nostalrius, where the server was treating it like it was a premade and queuing in the entire raid group regardless of how many other individual players outside of the group were queued. These players (some of whom had access to the test realm) knew that it was doing this despite being "experienced players in Vanilla" and took advantage of this system to farm reputation with organized groups when they should've known that it never worked this way in the original game.

You do understand this never came up on the test realm right?

Does this mean we can get banned for using
Code: Select all
/script SpellStopCasting()
?

Yes it does.

It means that any API call well known in vanilla can suddenly be declared off limits. And you can get banned for using it. Since addons extensively use API calls (and the one in question is used in at least two that I know of), it means you can be banned for using any addon. You'll have to guess what is safe and what is not, because the rules can suddenly change without notice.

By the way, heres a good question. Has the TOU been updated to indicate that using this API call is now off limits? Or are people just supposed to know that now?

I'm sure it'll have been fixed in-game by now.

Who wants to volunteer to try this to find out?

I don't think anyone wants to get banned.

^^ This exactly.

So since you can get banned for using an API call, what safety do you have using any addon, at all? How would you even tell what's safe and what's not?

Right now, it would mean that you could get banned for using Stinkyqueue or AVenabler addons. And most likely a few others that were designed using this API call.

Are you safe using my addon SpamThrottle? It doesn't use that API call, but maybe some other one will become off limits? And get you banned? Without warning?

Are you safe using ANY addon?
