I barely ever play on the server anymore, so it wouldn't personally bother me if it crashed and burned tomorrow. Talk about ad hominem, huh?Mopar wrote:The problem that you have is that you are unwilling to consider the possibility that it might be true, because it would threaten your world view.
The only reason I may seem "hostile" is because it's appalling to me how everyone is so quick to sympathize with the "victims". Do you honestly believe the GMs put this much work into the server just to fuck everyone over with permabans randomly thrown around?
If you lurk the forums long enough you will see everyone is exceptionally fast to blame everyone else except for themselves when they get banned, and they will leave out vital information in order to get the communitys sympathy, and judging by these ridiculous threads it's obviously working.
I emphasize, don't exploit OBVIOUS bugs and you will never get permabanned. Feel free to mock me if that ever turns out to be wrong

Actually I agree with almost everything, except the last. The reason this bothers me is because the miners in Silithus who got banned were not exploiting any obvious bug. The thought (as did I, and I've played this game for 11 years and on 3 different private servers) that this was how they were supposed to work.
And in fact, Ooze-covered Mithril nodes still work in exactly the same way today that the Ooze-covered thorium veins did before they changed them.
