This addon clearly gives them a massive advantage, having an instant notification of when it spawns compared to someone who is tabbing in every so often to check.

The lack of dedicated players on Alliance when the dragons started spawning is more the reason why Horde were dominating, rather than an addon that requires you to actively remain on the character during the scouting session. That and combined with the setup time for irl notification programs whilst monitoring and making sure everyone has 5-7 warlocks placed around the world. You don't just "run to the spawn", you carefully prepare to make sure every player in your guild will be ready for when a spawn occurs - be it if a world boss spawns 5 in the morning or 5 in the afternoon.
Competing for worldbosses is more of a tedious job than it is enjoyable gameplay.

I"m sure they are using VPN tho, but I'm sure some of them have slipped up and had 2 accts running at once, and multiboxing is a bannable offense here as well. World bosses are a very VERY fun part of Vanilla, but if 2 guilds have bots on them, and are constantly right at them, nobody gets to enjoy it except those select individuals.
