more importantly, why ban if you can just take back what i have exploited? it takes away the whole point of even having a threshold, that is my biggest concern.

what part of you knowingly abusing a bug, therefore breaking a rule set by the server, and therefore causing your account to be banned do you not understand?

It doesn't matter what the threshhold is, or what you believe your punishment should or should not be, nor does what your belief of what other players punishments have or have not been (even moreso considering you don't know AT ALL to what degree they broke a rule). You broke a rule set by the providers of this server, your punishment is dictated by them, and them only.

If you believe you were banned unfairly, send in a ticket to appeal, but considering you've already admitted to abusing a bug in order to buy an epic mount after saving up enough (Also after you claimed in your OP you had 0 intentions of using any cheated in gold) Your best bet is to start again or just forget about Nostalrius because nobody except the punished is going to lose sleep over this.

He should have gotten a warning first. Bans without warnings when it comes to exploits are shameful on their part.

We deserve lenient GM's and more specific rules and the punishments that follow breaking them.

I could have agreed with this, but

An accident is one thing, but intentional cheating deserves a banhammer.

Hell it's not even their game.

All they care about is the numbers on the server, and if they ban you they don't care about "making things right" like a good and supportive staff would, they are just too busy to care apparently.

A bug I participated with should be fixed, but it's not my fault there is a fishing spot that you can make decent gold farming at, its the servers. Why should they just ban everyone who has been there. I mean over a month i got around 500g - that is an exploit no doubt, but really has any harm been done if i didn't even benefit while having the gold? It just sat on my character. Why not make things right by patching it, and reclaiming the unlawful gold.

This is one thing that should set you apart from blizzard, this is a private server with fans you rely on to play - you don't have to be asshole GMs. You have the power to be great and personable GM's and be responsive to your fan base.

IE: Discretion. Yes. I broke the rules. Did anyone get hurt? No.
Did I benefit from this? Only if i spent the gold and didn't get banned. but that didn't happen.

I did not spend the gold therefore if it was taken away then it would be non-beneficial..

This is a rant, but if you found a good spot to farm gold (9/10 would) and you saved up, in hopes that if it really was "so abusive" that you could just say well shit sorry take it back.

This has turned into such a waste of time, and not to mention I donate to the server because I appreciate the hard work!

But now i am banned, i understand why but, if there is something to make it right I would always try that first, and then if it cannot be done a permanent ban is just - as a final resort.

I was never given a warning, and this apparently is a "Major Bug" which I find preposterous.

I would like to know an example of a "Minor Bug" that requires a warning before ban.

I'm all for banning people who cheat and exploit, but how was a player (especially someone new to wow) supposed to know that they were making more money than they should have by fishing. How is someone supposed to just know that they're making more money than they should? Seems a bit heavy handed to ban someone for just making too much money if they're not doing something that is not taking advantage of an obvious glitch or bug.

The threshold is high enough that no-one got banned accidentally. All those who were banned abused the bug intentionally and repeatedly.

lel

why should he tell you that treshold? So anybody who finds another bug can farm up to it and then leave? Why should he not be banned if he exploited a bug over weeks without reporting it?
He tried to get away with it and failed. Go on, nothing to see here.
