To the OP - arguing and questioning every suggestion made is not really a good way to get help.

This is exactly what I do as a Priest. Dot -> wand -> alt tab and do something else while I wait for the mob to die. No having to listen for a sound, no having to quickly click something. And I don't have to compete with people on the AH to sell my stuff, I just vendor it.

Really, I just hate fishing. It's so mind-numbingly boring. With grinding, I can truly alt-tab and not have to worry about anything, except gankers, which rarely happens because there's barely anyone in swamp of sorrows.

I'm not "arguing and questioning". People can be hyperbolic when it comes to stuff like this, so I want to make sure that what they're saying is accurate before I go and spend hours doing something.

Do you just blindly accept any suggestion that comes your way?

Hm, I think I found the mobs you're talking about. "Sorrow Spinner" ? The items they're dropping (Dripping Spider Mandible) seem to vendor for 30s per stack (of 5).

However, the cat mobs drop Long Soft Tail, which vendors for 40s per stack of 5, as well as Bristly Whisker, which vendors for 35s per stack of 5. And seems to have a pretty high drop rate.

Are you sure it's the spiders I should be going after?

The cats are in stealth, so I wouldn't aim for those unless you want to frustrate yourself searching for them around trees.

There are 1-2 cats or so spawning at the spider spot, so you can kill those too.

I don't think the name of the spider is "Sorrow Spinner", that name rings no bells in my head. The spiders outside of Stonard drop a lot of trash that you can sell, not just one type, buch of different ones + meats + Shadow Silk that sells for a decentish amount on the AH.

It's not a good spot because of how much each trash sells for, but because of how much drops at once.

Hm...I don't remember them dropping anything specifically good, but then again, I don't particularly remember their drops at all. Looking on vanilla wowhead, the greys they drop only vendor for 3-7 silver each.

Can confirm, the basilisks are great gold and that's how I got my first mount. The basilisks drop 3-4 items every time and sometimes greens. There's also a whole lot of them my the mountain wall.

No, I was killing the Swamp Jaguars, which are all over the western side of the zone, alongside Sorrow Spinners and crocs. They commonly drop tails that vendor for 8s each.

I didn't see any other spiders near Stonard, but then again, I didn't really go near stonard because going anywhere within 50yds of it would aggro every goddamn horde guard in the area.

Huh, guess I'll have to try them out. I did kill them while I was questing in Shimmering Flats, but I don't particularly remember their drops being amazing.

Killing the level 33-35 basilisks at the southern part of Shimmering Flats, and I'm not getting "3-4 items every time". Usually only 1 or 2, and 3 if I'm lucky.

After about 3 times circling the small oasis and killing all the basilisks, this is what I ended up with:

All of that (minus one of the recipes) vendored for roughly 4 gold, and it took me about...20 minutes or so?

I'll have to compare this with farming the jaguars in swamp of sorrows.

Oh, I found the spiders you're talking about. "Deathstrike Tarantula", southeast of Stonard.

....yeah, they don't seem to be dropping any more than the other spiders, nor any different items, yet they're so much harder to kill (higher level, more damage, repeatedly healing themselves for ~15% max health, etc) What exactly is so good about farming these? They're a pain in the ass to kill, and don't seem to be any better than the lower spiders, loot-wise.

Maybe for an aoe-farming mage, yeah, it'd be nice. But so would any other aoe-farming spot, I'd assume.
