Yes. So in this case, simply see what's gonna happen and if a turtle happens that apparently means that more people are turtling.

I never seen someone saying "fucking idiots stop rushing I want gold"
But I always see "stupid turtlers why do you prolong this its pointless"

Did you ever think that some people maybe like some lasting AVs? This is what I'm talking about people being ignorant. I earned the same rep in a 2hr battle you could earn in 3 40min battles (that have less chance to win). Only tho we had to do PvP which is fun and you only killed npcs. Everyone has their own way of seeing AV.

This is people being selfish. Who said your time is more important than us? How about we all have fun while you have to unfortunately PvP to get those items, or at least contribute to make some NPCs spawn that will attack the enemy base, and still get the same good (maybe better) Rep than rushing and making it pve.

Devs recently implemented some things just to discourage us to rush. And also made NPC spawns repeatable to encourage turtling (thanks to my bug reports)

Pause on pve, PvP keeps going on, and rep gains keep running from loots, while NPC assaults are being prepared. Don't be ignorant.

Couldn't agree more with everything you said.

There's never ever gonna be a solution to this because some people want to just fight in AV, some want to RUSH NORTH/SOUTH, and some just need the rep.

People just need to understand that it's simply unreasonable for them to tell people to play AV they think it should be played, and then get mad if they don't.

People hate on turtles for one simple reason: they're pointless from the battleground's flow perspective. Sure, you get to shoot at people and such, so it's fun, right? But tbh it's the kind of fun similar to the idea of an UD rogue ganking people in Menethil, with an obligatory wide homicidal maniac grin across his face. He's killing people. Yay. So what.

Consider these 2 scenarios:
#1 AB. Alliance has ST and LM, Horde has Farm and GM and recently capped BS. There's going to be a big battle at BS in about 30 seconds. What of it? Well, Alliance better try real hard to win in this attempt, or the next, or at the latest the 3rd one, because if they screw up, then Horde is gonna hit 1800 and then it's basically over. Oh, and Horde better try hard to hold the ground too, because they have a lead atm but one brilliant push may very well turn the tide still. There's a purpose.
#2 WSG. It's 1:1 and both sides are of the strong opinion that Defense is Good, and Killing People is Fun. So we have both teams planting 6 defenders on their base roof / balcony. They generally succeed in stopping the 3-man attacks from the other side. I'm sure they're proud of their pvp prowess, too. Barrels of fun.

See the difference? AV is the second kind of turtle, except made worse by the fact that 1) abusing consumables won't give you enough edge to do anything and 2) as the game drags on, it becomes even harder to proceed the game in any way (elite guards are a nightmare). Oh, you can push with riders or Ivus. Horde can kite riders to Drek and Ivus to tunnel entrance, respectively. And then back to a mindless drone levels of fun in the everlasting turtle. Yay.

The flaw in the AV part is that you should push along with the NPC properly. Kill anything it targets, that includes kiters, cast slow effects on them. And even if they get kited you use that fact to push forward as players and certainly NPCs will be distracted by the attacking NPC. So you always gain something and advance forward. In the meanwhile, you kill players for their loot and gather supplies for that to happen. But if noone is doing that then of course the battle will last forever. But as the battle lasts, reputation is gained quite effectively.

Players are worth 3-4 rep if killed and looted and turned in. That means doing that through 100 players is the same rep with killing vanndar which is worth 350 rep. (The bonus rep is gained from controlling graveyards, towers, mines and +125 rep from keeping galv/balinda alive)

Also, people never rescue wing commanders, which are really valuable rep sources which make players 1-5 more rep worth and also once progressed, they spawn flying elite NPCs across the battleground and at the enemy base which can finish off/devastate the enemy team pretty fast.

Or champion reavers with their warmaster (which hopefully gets entirely fixed soon)

The fact that you say "pause on PvE" instead of just agreeing with the fact that it stalls the overall gameplay proves you are too biased to view this with any kind of objectivity at all. It also proves you were bullshitting when you made the claim that the rep is just as good in your 2 hour+ shitter games

Putting all PvP and PvE agendas aside, any reasonable person would agree with the fact that the ultimate end goal of AV is to win it, and to win it you gotta kill the enemy factions leader, and that won't happen when you got 40 people turtling their own base. As I mentioned earlier, putting 40 people on defense is a destructive approach to the game, You won't win it and you won't lose it, you simply waste time by playing a 10 year old game in an inefficient manner, why don't you start playing without proper keybinds and do backpaddles like back in the days, while you're at it? Follow your own advice and stop being ignorant.
