Not that this should come as a surprise, but people are inherently self concerned in their assertions. Why do you think world peace is nothing more than idealism?

This usually equates to being insensitive and unsupportive of the struggles of other...even when their concern is completely reasonable and logical. People are incredibly callous and indifferent these days - it's the new norm.

The only options at this point seem to be a second server or increased network bandwidth, but they might have already maxed that out since they've mostly resorted to server code optimizations as of late. The population seems too overwhelming for just a waiting queue to be effective.

Anyone know how network performance has been on the new server when it's full?

And @OP if you like 'normal' pop play on the PvE server. One of the main reasons people play on Nost PvP is for the super high population.

Have yet to meet anyone who is playing on the PvP server because being overcrowded is such an AWSUM thing. People play here chiefly because there are no other vanilla servers worth anything, and more importantly because it was the only server we had till just a few weeks ago.

Phew, for a second there I thought you were seriously telling people the only difference between the PvE and PvP server was population!

What a moron you would've looked like!

A second PvP server would be awesome. 10,000 concurrent players is pretty cool, but I don't think it makes for a great overall experience in terms of questing, farming, the economy, etc. I've only logged in on non-peak days so far, and even then /who shows 6,000+ players.

And the population is only going to continue to grow. WoD is in the middle of a massive content drought, and there are no MMORPGs on the horizon that would satisfy someone looking for a vanilla WoW type of experience (I know because I've been searching for years  )

the population is too much at this point and the devs know it. what would a 2nd pvp server hurt? there would still be 5-7k players on each at peak which is obviously PLENTY. the only thing it would do is IMPROVE gameplay. I see people complain EVERY DAY in chat about the population.

I'd prefer a new PvP server over one with 4x the max population of a retail one. When people say "nost is good because it's high pop" they're not referring to the fact that it has 10,000 players, they're just referring to the fact that it's not empty (like Kronos). Most of those people would probably prefer a traditional "High" population in the Blizzard sense, i.e. ~3k concurrent players.

But this post won't get approved anyway...

Well I am experiencing it every day (Austria - 75Mbps down, 7.5Mbps up, great connection in all other games like retail WoW, SW:Battlefront, CS:GO..)

So we are 6 hours ahead of you (East Coast - Mid-Europe) --> Come on at 2-3pm your time and have fun lagging around sometimes, not the whole time.

Sometimes I switch stances (warrior) and am waitling like an hour. Game says that I have a 25-30ms ping..
I guess it's quite not handable with 10k players online.

But for how it is running with that amount of players tho, I am really impressed! Better than "blizzlike"-Servers from Blizzard itself.

@ Thread:

More Servers would not stablize the servers as the amount of servers grow = support needed grows = staff needed grows --> more errors due programming and fixing bugs because of more people working on it. It would be quantity not quality.

Only way would be to allow a transfer to the PVE realm --> Problem here is the different content and obtainable items.

So I think it's a play it or leave it :D

Pretty sure the issue with not releasing another server is simply time related. Nobody is going to invest infinite amounts of time on project that he simply cannot turn into a job. Also getting more devs is not easy since it's purely passion project. Devs get nothing.

So how about, instead of COMPLAINING, people would sign up for GM and Dev positions?

Oh right, everybody wants fun, but only for free and when they don't have to lift a finger. That's great, right?

Josa +1, imagine - you have a passion to make a server for people, so they can have fun. But if the project overgrows the expectations and you are suddenly getting slightly nervous and not getting that "thrill" of doing something you enjoy, as it starts to turn into a burden, then the sh*t hits the fan. I'm in the same position now but iRL and it sucks big time, for something you've very much enjoyed is now rather ruined for you/me.
