(A) GDKP Onyxia run!

As a person that used to run my own pugs (normal ones), I can tell you that the GDKP is a nasty system that will just bring the server to its knees. There is nothing positive that can be brought from having GDKP on a server. There are tons of guild that can sell you an item straight off the bat, for a fair price. Or what I prefer, there are tons of pugs going on daily that you can join for a chance at the item.

You cant drive the bid up. Whoever bids first, is the winner at that teir. When the next tier is announced, whoever puts X first is on the hook for that amount. If no one puts an X out at the new tier, then the first person to put an X out in last tier of bidding wins. You can bid it up sure, but it wont go for the higher amount you bid it up to unless someone is willing to be on the hook for that amount by typing X at the new tier.


Prices are competitive with current loot being sold.


Not even going to speak to the Warsong Copy/Pasta from a fun server.

there is only 1 or 2 ways GDKP works.
1) a bunch of overgeared insane players in a guild clears the raid(despite how many deaths the pugs get)
2) the geared players are there for the money and not the gear, allowing pugs to spend money on the items.

the problem is, there are over 50 guilds that actively clear current content. getting into a guild is not that difficult. (unless your name is Bow or some shit)

there is another reason why GDKP is not considered appealing because raiding MC alone nets barely 10-15g with 0 deaths. I could spend 2 hrs farming frostmaul eko and make 40g for a stack then waste my time and raid ID with a bunch of pugs.

currently it is more efficient to farm/sell to tryhards then it is to run gdkps. the industrial amount of raiding guilds want consumables and such to complete content, not gold cap or gear. demand > supply, and the consumables (herbs/mining/alchemy) is in high demand.

if there were no tryhard guilds that suck down 500,000 consumables to get record breaking clear times... maybe GDKP would be appealing. but that's not the case on Nostalrius.

Im all for GDKP runs, however i am all against core of guild essentially earning from pugs.

There should be 2 types of people in gdkp run:
1) Experienced and GEARED to teeth players in it for gold.
2) Awful geared people with intent to buy.

How can random buyer be sure that you dont invite some schmucks to GDKP runs (when they are not really any of 2 categories) just because they are from <Surge>

Its not like you are server top 5 guild after all.

its a start, BWL GDKP running every week some time in the future would be ideal ( i imagine there would be a lot buyers and you dont need guild hosting it if boosters are good)
