The solution is rather simple. Like Blizzard has on high population servers : Azeroth , Kalimdor and dungeons each hosted on different servers. A very complicated Java code to merge them and that's it. Problem is , if you don't know how to do that , professionals coders charge a lot of money for this. So basically it all comes down to money. In this rhythm server will collapse unders it's own success in max 6 months ....because let's be honest , the server population will only increase!

Well it may be true that the population has increased a lot, but seriously the lag issues have improved a lot. I'm guessing the majority of people here haven't played in the first few months, but back then the lag used to be unbearable to the point that it was nearly impossible to play the game at night when the most players are logged in (which was then about 5-6k I believe). The server used to get shut down frequently, but lately I've hardly had any issues with that.

So in short, stop whining/focussing on everything that is negative, and instead focus on the good things that this server brings

Hahaha, what. If you don't know anything about coding, this game, or running about a private server don't say its "rather simple" and then act like you know what you are talking about. If it was this easy it would of already been done. All of the developers that are working on this are qualified to be professional coders or already are, you think they pick random people to develop it?

Also, WoW is written in C++, not java. Secondly, this seems simple in theory, but the core this is running on (MaNGOS) does not have capabilities to host each continent on a different server. They would have to completely restructure their emulator/core and that takes a lot of time, effort, and money because you would have to recode everything from scratch.

you guys have no clue what you are talking about. this server is more stable with 11k players right now then it was for example with 5-7k players on patch 1.4, stop crying and complain if you dont even have any idea what you are talking about, move to pve server or accept the fact that there might be some delay at peaktimes and its not even like its unplayable then unless you live somewhere in africa... kkthxbye

I'd like to hear a official statement from the team. Are they thinking about another server to handle this problem? Or do they think different about this? I think there is not much time left until the PvP realm bends under its population. As for sunday, there were about 12500 players online on peak time. The game was unplayable, either of lag issues or farming issues.
A high populated server is fun, but this is way to much.

Love the high pop server, there's always something to do. No off-hours if you wanna do some dungeon.
But I'm learning that there is such a thing as too high a population. Can you imagine silithus with 12k people? World pvp is fun but there will be nothing else but it.

You dont have lag dont mean nobody have lag... To be honest i always have lags on nost when there is 9k ppl and more, and my computer is fine. Im agree with Stark on this, and pve server. 2k ppl for a second server is not worth. Turning it pvp will not prevent ppl to do raids and dgs. Instead 11k ppl prevent all ppl to play on the pvp server.
And, if : Obviously they are aware of the problem.
Why they dont answer, inform us, on none of the topics about this problem, even with a copy/paste.
