Boo Hoo, PVP is one of the only reasons I'm on this server. World PVP in retail is non existent in most zones due to flying mounts, which is one of the reasons I long ago stopped subscribing.

Many others including myself and would leave if this turned into a pussy carebear PVE server.

Go play a single player game if you only want AI to be a threat to you.

Some of my best memories from the original Vanilla was the random PVP that would occur during boring questing or gathering activities. The game itself is a grind that would not hold my attention if it were not for the possibility that at any second a unpredictable human controlled enemy could appear and throw me into a impossible struggle for survival. Overcoming this attacker (or attackers) is the most thrilling experience the game can offer.

So in short please set your petition on fire so we can collectively piss on its ashes.

Clearly you didn't see the "[Failed]" in the title and the updated text that provides the reason. I mean damn... all it takes is 5 seconds to read the OP.

I hear you op. It would be nice to have a server that was truly classic, like this one, but without the gank-style pvp element to it. I wish blizzard would do it, but they don't seem to have any interest in it for some reason.

The pvp element is why i'm not going to stick around even though it's a very well-done server. When I played classic I was on a PVE server and it was a game I could relax and play with my mp3 player on without having to look over my shoulder all the time (It seems like its always people with skulls for levels that gank me too. Yeah, real tough.)

The new players will trickle out real fast as well when basically everyone they come across that ganks them is more than 10 levels higher. Thats a huge problem with established pvp servers. If you don't grind your ass off when they first open you will be murderbait for everyone else when trying to level.

Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. Thanks to the devs for the server. It was fun to play a truly classic server even if i'm not going to stick around.

omgroflmao is one example of someone leaving because of the PVP. Let's put it this way most PVP servers were never as populated as PVE servers. Just consider that for a moment. Also consider the ratio of PVP to PVE servers was 1:7.

Having leveled around 8 characters to max in vanilla, TBC and Wrath I can say for a fact that it is impossible to avoid Strangethorn Vale. You can grind mobs in other areas but questing is really the only fastest way to level and STV lasts 15 levels. Of all the zones it is the 800 pound gorilla that you cannot avoid.
