hunter pets do way too much damage

Someone need to check pet info panel with gear on and then completly naked and see if pet damage values are same in both cases. Pet damage is not supposed to scale with owner AP in vanilla, but server core is downgraded TBC core so this mechainc may still presists here. On Feenix similar problem was fixed only in mid 2014, imagine how long it was there.

The fact that no hunter has tested this yet and reported the numbers of the test is beyond me. This needs to be tested asap.

reading the hunter forums here is like entering a bizarro universe because there isn't a single post or comment about how hunter pets (specifically raptors) are doing significantly more damage than they should

Actually, someone did test it, and I believe he posted the results in one of the threads linked by OP. Basically, the conclusion was that a level 30-35 pet was doing the equivalent damage of a pet owned by a T3-geared Hunter on 1.12 retail. In that test, the T3 Hunter was also using a wolf pet which has a slower attack speed. As a level 30 feral Druid, I can attest to being melee'd for 60+ by a level 30 cat pet (high attack speed), which is just asinine. At that kind of damage a pet on its own could kill a Mage of the same level in about 8 hits. Not to mention the issue just gets downright hilarious with Bestial Wrath.

They are completely out of whack and it has to be addressed. Cat form damage was recently fixed even though it was less than 10% higher than intended, yet pets that are doing over twice as much damage as they should be continue to go unchecked.

Hunters pets are broken lvl 36 tiger hit me for 60-70 non crits and 130 crits

Judging by how a warlock was able to survive through my entire Beastial Wrath, I'd say they are just fine, if not weak.

While in mara, our Hunter's pet would constantly pull aggro from our tank without growl. We even let the pet tank all of the bosses, the pet needed maybe 1-2 heals each boss.

Quit whining about hunter pets, they are just fine. BM pets have always been strong.

Except for the empirical evidence that shows that pets are doing more than twice as much damage as they should be. No one here is saying that BM pets shouldn't be strong, but when a level 35 pet is doing more damage per white hit than a Naxx-geared Hunter's pet did on 1.12 retail, that's clearly not correct tuning.

What about this red wind serpent pet that I see is getting more popular every day? It appears to be permanently immune to fear, outside of enrage. Idk much about pets, but pretty sure there is no pet that should be perma fear immune.
