The alliance successfully defended ironforge. They were superior in numbers, the horde couldn't do much...

I think unless the Alliance just aren't ever organized it'd be pretty hard to successfully raid Ironforge. Maybe you could do some sort of sneak attack, but letting the alliance know you were setting this up makes it kind of easy for them to successfully defend. Ironforge has some ridiculous defensive advantages; choke points and the ramp up to IF has elevation. Easy AOE kill fest.

You'd almost have to go through SW, jump off the tram and run up there without being noticed.

Lack of interest in guild made me call off forming a Purge raid. Being stuck in a BRS run after numerous bugs made me skip the event myself.

I only saw this post after talking to you in game otherwise I would have told you to expect this. Element of surprise is a big thing in battles and horde had none.
