Fact is it was indeed exactly the same in vanilla. Twinks (like fony http://y2u.be/jJnBQswfAxg) and unpunished low level ganking are as much a part of classic vanilla as are the end-game raids. Dishonorable kills are there to keep high levels away from low-level cities or villages so you should be safe there.

Not a big fan of WPVP either while leveling. However, the solution to this is simple.
Find a grind spot and grind whenever it's EU prime time. I only quest during US prime time.
With minimal research you can find spots where, even with 6K people on, you'll be left alone for hours at a time.

XP wise, you may be losing out a little, but you'll make a ton more gold. Just turn on some Netflix to keep yourself entertained.

Just remember there is zero penalty for getting ganked other than the time to retrieve your corpse. If an quest area is overrun by gankers and grievers - go find an alternate spot for awhile, or (gasp) log an alt or do something else.

That is kinda the issue. If I want a quality PvE server... well, there aren't any. They're either underpop or PvP. So it's not blizzlike in that there are no PvE alternatives. We either play PvP or we don't get to play Vanilla. So it's not like it was back in the day.

I think the most important thing that everybody here is forgetting is that the real reason we're playing on a vanilla server, is so that we can complain about playing on a vanilla server. It's not like we want to experience old school WoW....we just want the rights to old school griping.

Wpvp wouldn't be nearly as prevalent in the 48-60 bracket if allies queued more bgs. I farm lowbies for hours cause I sit in queue for hours.
