Just because it's nothing new should not mean it's an good idea. Hopefully it's not becoming a trend on nostalrius... I remeber a server I've played on, where you had to bit with donationpoints... I know nostalrius is far away from that but considering how rare gold was in classic it's a shame

this was done in vanilla by numerous guilds,
raiding is quite an expensive way of gaming due to repair costs, enchants, time etc.
to get some money back via a few guys that want to spend their gold for "older" gear why not.

When you can BUY gear with golds, that's what happens.
"Why should I farm 24/7 when I can buy TONS of golds from that website...then go buy my BiS-raid gear?"

The fear is, that this shit becomes a trend and in the end all the raids are gdkp runs

GDKP should be a restricted or banned practice. Players who have to rely on being carried through raids are players who one can assume would otherwise be unable to obtain raid gear.

This would have irreversible negative effects on PvP and the game economy. As mrmr said, it incentivizes exploitation and hacking, and would even potentially create a black market where people pay hackers cash for gold and then those same hackers take gold payments to carry people through raids. It would spiral into a huge shit show.
