Yes Kronos needed to respond, if this response is too early development wise, its a bad gamble.
Like i mentioned before , wait untill hype is over and release 6 months later if that is what it takes to deliver the good product.

then they should have scheduled it for the weekend before the 28th to get atleast a weeks worth of legitimate testing done before the majority of beta testers within the vanilla private server community left for a released server. its just not efficient in regards to beta testing.. I can see them hosting their open PTR for months before real progress gets fixed and done before they announce a release.
tldr, I really wanted to test kronos out as well and see what they have in regards to bugs and broken mechanics too because I enjoy the testing part.

but myself and probably many others who were adamant testers are not going to miss Nostalrius release to retest another server again..

In my eyes Nostalrius has already won the so called "competition" between the 2 servers, why? Well it's pretty simple - it's lauching first.

I'm sure almost everyone prefers to play on an already launched server and have their character progression saved rather than play in an open beta and then lose all their progress.

This move is pretty pathetic, aka obvious sign of desperation considering Kronos is nowhere near release yet. Beta or no, just 1 dev they occasionally have working on the server can't do anything significant in any short amount of time, making the whole announcement laughable at best.

Kinda sad to see Kronos drop their pants like that, was expecting quality and good management, got neither.
