players banned for queueing av with /script macro

I am making this post to defend 2 of my guild mates that I feel were unfairly punished.

The handling of this situation by the Nostalrius staff seems unreasonable and unfair for 3 main reasons.
#1 The players involved were accused of using a 3rd party program to group queue AV, and this is COMPLETELY untrue. The queueing was done with a simple one line macro that the group leader must click, with no software or AddOns involved.
#2 This was possible in retail vanilla. Proof: http://www.skryer.com/forum/showthread.php?p=3852
Nostalrius included this function in their version of AV, and now have punished players for using it.
#3 The players involved were given no warning and given very little opportunity for discussion. They were banned within 20 minutes of first being contacted by a GM.

I think the GMs need to get educated first. This is so stupid.

Whatever legitimacy NOPE had in this whole deal got lost when they decided to massively spam the server instead of discussing it with the GMs.

id say the official response is pretty obvious with three day 1 players banned (for using a function that was built into the Nost version of AV)

Having fun in vanilla world of warcraft? That just cannot be allowed. You were doubly wrong since you were getting decent gear in the process.

The ban was just and deserved

Also this script wasn't used or figured put until patch 1.10 of vanilla so obviously it shouldn't be allowed cause we are yet to get to that patch.... duhhh

But GMs doesnt answer or whisp you 80% of the time before you get banned
