There wasn't a post about RESERVING a guild name, otherwise you would link it here. The fact they've made a forum topic befor the server launch means their guild name is RESERVED for them? Show me where is it written in terms of service or link me a forum/facebook post which tells about it.

it was clear names were being taken with the intention to sell and not use them and only for trolling reasons.

Oh really? Tell me WHERE is it written in terms of service you can't take nicknames other people want aswell? I don't buy "it was clear"...

NOTHING was mentioned about it ANYWHERE BEFOR the launch so that's nothing more than forcing innocent people to change their guild name for no bigger reason. You're making new rules on the run now Daemon? Interesting...

What do you mean Daemon? You just favored a guild over other one for no reason and you ask me to behave myself? Just tell us the truth so at least we'll know what are your real intentions. I know I play for free etc. but I just want to know what kind of server will it be, that's it.

So are you giving something else to "big before server merged guilds" too? Maybe some free loot too, becoise why not. Right? I heard they have server gm in the guild also, thats why the fuzz.

+1. They've made a forum topic few weeks befor the launch so that's not fair if someone else takes first kills, right? That's your "logic" guys.

I can understand the anger of the people who got their guild name taken away because it was "reserved" by some other guild; one suspects them of "trolling," or at least going on with the name in spite of having full knowledge of the existence of another established guild with that name (let's face it, while "dreamstate" may count as a common word in the context of WoW, it's hard to believe that two groups of people would think it's a really good idea to name their guild like that), but what about other cases that potentially could have happened? As far as I can see, the guidelines were not very clear, at least before the event.

On the other hand, I can understand the other side as well; you were already recruiting people on the forums under a specific name, and even in real life I can't just buy domains like barackobama.com or something and keep it. And frankly I don't think it's a big deal that a guild less than a day old had to change their name.

This is very different from character names though; a guild recruitment post under a certain name implies that the guild will choose that name in game. A forum user name, on the other hand, doesn't. Also, with common words or common names, etc. there is always the possibility that multiple people would actually want that name. I'd oppose any character name reservation whatsoever, but even if they allowed *some* reservation, it should be clear that it is entirely ridiculuous to claim to have reserved a name that is either a word appearing in the dictionary, or something that has a Wikipedia page. I mean, if I claim that I have somehow "reserved" the name "Bellerophon," what would you think?

Stone please tell me: why is it a big deal? The guild got asked to change their name within hours. It's not like a well knows and respected guild got their name changed. Why do you make this thing out to be a big deal, accusing the GMs of corruption? Y u so angry?

This does not mean that they will be corrupt in any other aspect, changing a guild name because they tested and helped the Staff with the server is in no way a reason to be angry.

I'm not seeing why you emphasize the "launch day" thing. The GM's actions would clearly have been much worse had it been committed a long time after launch. I would certainly side with you against the GMs had this happened more than a month into launch.

If anything, the fact that they just implemented this new system on the launch day shows that they just hadn't thought about the issue before, and only realized what to do when the a conflict actually occurred. Which is bad, yes, but also understandable given that there are a lot of things to care about for the launch.
