I can burn a stack of Runecloth Bandages per raid. Healers are too busy to bother with my disposable Rogue. That's a 2k heal I can use in combat(half my buffed total life), which is done in 8 seconds, probably before I eat the next AoE or whatever crap the boss does. The only good alternative is a potion, which heals for less, costs more, and has a 2m CD(bandage is 1m). The good news is that they do not share a CD, meaning both can be used.

My other best use for bandages is to heal my Hunter's pet. I need mana to SHOOT. If I'm going to stand here uselessly channeling a heal, I may as well not waste mana in the process. Bandaging your Hunter pet is probably the game's best use for bandages. Mend Pet just hogs mana to do the same thing a bandage does for no mana.

I used bandage during raid boss encounters.

Enough said.

Your class and what type of content you focus on don't matter. You'll always find an use for bandages/anti-venom for countless different situations.
It's an "investment" you will never regret.

Don't listen to these miserable bastards. Your question was totally legitimate.

Half these shitbags like to pretend they played retail vanilla when in reality their balls hadn't even dropped yet.

First aid is useful if you are casual but not mandatory.

Dont take advice from stand in fire raiders. Bandage. Melee out on rag knockback / geddon fire pulse -bandage. Shazz arcane explosion after a tp -bandage if ur melee, and find a caster to bandage. More useful than your bow.

BWL LOS machanics on pillars, bandage or bandage a healer while they spam on tanks. Naxx and AQ have a few as well that make figjts easier. C'Thun is such a long fight you will do this many times, even as a healer class to allow the 6 second non caste spirit regen to kick in when ever possible.

Antivenom alone is amazing for leveling and worth taking FA for.

Now that I've started leveling a warrior, I see it's use. Linen bandage 66hp/8sec while food is 61hp/15sec. That is quite a difference :) I've even stunstomped a mob mid-combat to get a little healz in.
What even is a 'signature'?
