why players should be responsible for bugs that arent fixed by administration ? can you atleast warn players first before banning them because of your mistakes ? now i am afraid of doing proffesions cause i may encounter some bug i dont know of and get banned for it.

These private server owners don't code the server themselves, they download the open source server code and run it. If any of you have played on several private servers you will discover that they all have the same bugs. The Wrath servers basically all run TrinityCore as an example. They all have the same TrinityCore bugs. I'm convinced that all these "Devs" don't really know how to fix any bugs except maybe the most trivial ones. That's why all private servers never have any of these long standing bugs fixed. Unless they are fixed by the teams actually working on the open source code they will most likely remain unfixed. Same thing here on Nostalrius. They installed an open source server with all the bugs that codebase has and I would not count on them ever being fixed.

I think the GMs are indirectly trying to say:

"PM us before u do anything on this server to check if you could get banned. If we do not know if it is bannable, please prove to us that this is blizzlike or you will get banned for exploiting a bug. Though if it's blizzlike, we will do something to either ban all who do it or fix it till it's broken."

best is u just don't do it. Don't do anything.

That's what I'm going to be doing now. I'm sorry, but I just can't risk getting my account banned.

Honestly, it sounds like a good way to get GM's attention. Flood them with tickets asking if ____ is a bannable type of gold farming.

What? Seriously?

Yes, if it has been written on the interwebz it is true.

That happened a few months ago on Nost. The guy video'd his wonderful trip, and - after four days - got unbanned because he could prove the game was at fault. With the video. If he hadn't had the video, he may never have been unbanned.

Greetings,

please do not overreact. Five accounts were banned for a major bug exploit in Silithus, not fifty, not five hundred. These players knew very well what they were doing regardless of what few of them are now claiming on the support forum. Daemon explained this in his post here:
viewtopic.php?f=65&t=21452&start=40#p143169

The unfortunate player who got mistakenly banned for flyhack was indeed unbanned and no-one else has been banned for that. The only reason why he was banned in the first place was because we were not aware of the gryphon flying bug, which we are now.

If you are playing normally, you do not have to fear of getting banned. As Daemon said, if you find something that seems to be too good to be true, please make a ticket and clarify the issue with GMs. Remember that we have over eight thousand active players at the moment - the exploiters are a tiny drop in the ocean.

Neither the admins nor the game masters are "out to get you". We are doing our best to ensure that the thousands of legitimate players have a good vanilla experience:

As a reminder, don't forget that behind a private server project, there are humans. These people try their best to make their project go fine and to reach the goals they fixed themselves in the beginning of their work.

Thank you for reading.

"Major bug exploit" ? I don't think getting a handful of Thorium nodes every 45 minutes is really a "major bug exploit".

Pottu wrote:If you are playing normally, you do not have to fear of getting banned.

And these players WERE "playing normally". Going around the Silithius caves and mining nodes is perfectly normal. It was done on retail.

But no, all of a sudden, you're declaring the mining node spawn locations to be "bugged", and banning people for "bug abuse" without any kind of warning. Really?

Pottu wrote:As Daemon said, if you find something that seems to be too good to be true, please make a ticket and clarify the issue with GMs.

So you're taking a stance of "guilty until you prove yourself innocent", "ban first ask questions later" ?

Seriously, players should not have to be in constant fear of getting banned every time they find a decent way of making gold.

Things like the incident where some guy was buying tons of herbs off of a Darkmoon vendor, yeah, that's something that would make a player question whether or not it's bugged. But mining nodes respawning every 45 minutes? No, that's not suspicious or bug-like at all.
