I don't even understand how people can stay on their forum for more than 10 seconds. The layout/colors are awful and it makes my eyes hurt literally.

I think the butthurt comes from their server not getting the attention anymore. Also, I got a response from one of the mods over their claiming they are the only reason Nost has the popularity it has. I laughed.

They aren't going to be getting the population they think they are mainly because most folks think they are pay to win, they have changed some things from blizz for "convenience" and just plainly have a more toxic community.

Still, I'm playing, hoping for the best, but I definitely have a different idea of how a "quality realm" should look like.

I understand the feeling of disillusionment that comes over when the server you invested all your hopes in, falls somewhat, if not utterly, short of what you imagined. But I've been round private servers long enough to know that the Grail of these servers is a figment and the best we can do is play on a server and provide sufficient feedback for the developers to look into and fix misfires accordingly.

You are absolutely right to demend a bug free, stellar product, but alas, I don't think this is plausible. Personally, I am a very social person in-game, and chatting and interacting with others constitue a bumper chunk of the game to me.

i witnesses one of the first vanilla servers (cWoW RIP)
since then the quality of servers grew extreme.

trust me nostalrius is one of the best server i've ever seen.

btw, vanilla itself was not bugfree.

kronos:
+ nice bug tracker
+ impressive fix videos ( of tthings that i personnaly have never seen fixed in any p-server)
+ dev team is kind of transparent and answers pretty much all the questions
+ server funding wont be a problem in the future
- bug tracker has A LOT of bugs reported in (when i mean i lot, i really mean it)
- slow bug fixing, cuz small team
- stability seems to be a MAJOR concern

Nostalrius:
+ 1.4 patch is actually pretty cool and adds to the challenge. Its a big +1 for me
+ awesome stability
+ quick fixing
+ big population
- lvling not 100% polished yet
-no real bug tracker (really needed for big theorycrafting discussions)
-not really transparent about server funding/dev team

Kronos will have a Auction House for Player accounts, so you can buy Accounts from others, at Nostalrius it is forbidden to sell Acounts.
Nostalrius has the best Pathing/Fear System i have ever seen on a Private Server, cant comment here on Kronos.
Nostalrius is made by rich Devs, they dont need to be funded (if i were rich i would do the same as Hobby lol).

No MMO is bugfree and probably never will be.

People that complain have no idea how programming a MMO works.

Well said.
I also have been around private Vanilla servers for a while now (the better ones, I'd guess, where quality counts more than quantity).
I'm also aware that a bug free server won't ever exist, but at least class spells, talents and mechanics should be working properly.
And I'm also quite a social guy - maybe more in a way that I like to help others (buffing, healing - don't know how many butts I already saved), it defines much of the fun I have.

i played closed beta before the first kronos launch (back in 2012) and i must say we fixed many of the things which are not working here (for example event quests, warriors charge, drop chances etc), but then i stopped playing on live realm as it was nowhere near done and was bugged, with awful population online. What i must say that i like nostalrius better, even as the low lvl things dont work, cause i believe they will be fixed soon. Although, more communication from the devs and certainly a bug tracker are required in the near future..

So Nostalrius well never have a black market for players to buy an account? Just like blizzard?

So the devs are rich illuminati that will continue to support this server for free out of the kindness of their heart?

Please..
