working as intended.
Exact same thing happens with mobs with high resistances for casters i.e. Elementals, afaik its working fine.
Yep, but we are talking about different things. Against a mob with 0 armor, sinister strike hits for 200. Against a mob with 2200 it hits for 115ish. Against a mob with 4400 armor it hits for 105ish.
I initially chose poor targets to fraps, not realizing there'd be that much of an armor difference, but only out of sheer excitement that i finally hit a mob for more than 105 for the first time in 3 levels. i am now frapsing more mobs as i get a free minute here and there and i will upload that video when i am done.
bottom line: mobs with 2200-2600 armor are taking 43% less damage. mobs with 4400 armor are taking 50% less damage. i have searched for a calculation on how armor mitigation works in vanilla wow but could not find one and i am hardly a theorycrafter anyway. if anyone knows how it works we can put this to rest one way or another.
until you show data you just look silly. saying "vs 25% damage reduction my ss hits for 105" means absolutely nothign to me. do it 50 times in a row vs the same mob. then 50 times in a row vs a different mob. then come post your results. your vague impressions are of very little interest to me, especially when your thread title is "MAJOR BUG- INCORRECT DAMAGE"
i've leveled melee and caster classes in vanilla. it is sometimes surprising the range of armor that you come across but you can use it to your advantage too by finding mobs with very low armor and killing them very quickly.
