Whats up with all the hatred towards Kronos Project.

Now you can Play on Nostalrius when it Launches and go test Kronos and make an informed decision on which server you would like to play and invest your time.

I applaud the Kronos team for responding to the impatience of the Vanilla community that came out after the announcement of Nostalrius release and tossing us all a bone to chew on while they finish up what ever they think needs to be fixed.

According to their forums they are announcing their final release date sometime next week and based on that AND whatever experience we as players might gain from testing out both servers, we can all make right decision.

I'm just thankfull we in this day and age have the luxury of being able to test out 2 diffrent vanilla servers so i don't have to invest all my time on a server that turns out to be crap.

Now calm the F. down and enjoy what ever server you want to play on and stop acting like 12 year olds...sheesh

Okay, I just want to clear a few things up for myself, I've participated in the Kronos beta -and-the Nostalrius beta(s) myself and I've come to the personal conclusion that I prefer Kronos. I suppose you can call me biased all you want, but I've seen it with my own two eyes - therefore I just have to raise an eyebrow at some of the responses/conclusion I'm reading from the folk on here. I'm keeping both servers in mind -and- will play both.

First of all, how is this pathetic and unprepared? It's business 101 that in situations like these the early bird gets the worm -- what in the blazing hells did you expect? For Kronos just to roll over and die? Kronos is quite literally in a better developed state (at the moment, I've found that the developers are making amazing progress in quite a short bit of time, so hats off to them.) If one were to look at it realisticly, The Kronos team is only unprepared in the fact that they didn't expect Nostalrius to lift off just yet because of the very fact that many things are still-o' broken. Kronos isn't even going to release, it's basicly a try-before-you-buy so you can see how much better it is than Nostralius, why would you be mad about that?

Secondly, some of these accusations are blatant lies. There are far more developers instead of Chero, and the entire thing about account auctions? Those characters don't appear out of thin air, you can't just buy a character, they're leveled by real people - account selling and sharing is going to be done anyway, it happens on private servers - this is simply created to reassure you're not going to get screwed over and that the server can keep running -- it won't affect you in-game! I'm not sure about the ten gold respec, though, I'd appreciate it if someone could link it.

Third and finally, all those who have beem muted didn't offer criticism or any other helpful advice, they just tried to drag the server and the community down - all the posts can still be seen, feel free to check them out.

I'd really like an answer to these three questions instead of just being called a fanboy, I want to check out both servers and the response I've gotten from you all have been fairly toxic. I want to like Nostalrius, I really do! But for heaven sake, calm your jib.

Nos is rehosting a nostalgic pre 1.4 wow vanilla experience and keeping it close to blizzlike as possible.

Kronos on the other hand, 10g respecs is not blizzlike, character auctions to profit from is not blizzlike. changing NPC AI on caster type mobs are not blizzlike.
I understand the benefits of these things that Kronos is doing, but it is not how the old nostalgic wow vanilla was like.

in a sense, its like kronos is its own server, not a truly nostalgic 1.12.1 server that blizzard made.

this is just my opinion though and in no way to bash kronos, I just want something closer to how vanilla wow was.

The issue at hand is it seems very knee jerk. The Kronos fan base has been asking for open betas similar to what Nost started doing in December. The staff ignored the player base and posted two whole videos to pull people along. Once Nost announces a launch date, you pull an open beta? If Kronos was being developed at the same speed/with the same number of people, they would have been going one for one with Nost since December. Not playing catchup now.

I don't know the whole story about how many Dev's are left, what I can see and what is made public is that Kronos has slowed down massively on bug fixes/development. That means there are things going on that the staff chose not to share with the community. Nost for the most part, has attempted to be transparent with this community for the most part. As far as account selling, I'm never a fan of it, even if that character was leveled correctly, the person buying it may have no idea how to play it, regressing the community because of it.

I really don't care either way, I'm not invested in any of this, I have no money in the game. I'm looking forward to a stable vanilla server to play on. Nost happens to be doing a few things that I really like compared to other 1.12.1 servers, that being the items being regressed back to the older values. No more welfare items to advance the server faster than it should be.

Well, I try to think of it as the following;

The character auction is just to circumvent people getting scammed, while also improving the actual server - you don't actually notice any of this in-game. They're leveled characters, only the owners are changing and with auction or not -- people are going to sell accounts anyway. Why not turn them into something positive?

I really like the changing of items and dungeons from Nostalrius, though! I wish Kronos would do that as well, but alas, it's a shame that Nostalrius won't go all the way and disable battlegrounds for the first few months as well. That kind of removes some of the novelty from that Tarrenmill vs Southshore trailer, but you can't have everything I suppose.

The caster AI has always been in there, we have debunked this so many times with so many videos. I'm quite tired so I don't feel like looking them up, look for the videos themselves on the topic on the actual Kronos forum or go watch Joana's 1-60 leveling guide on youtube.

I meant having caster mobs frost nova you and then run out of melee range. that wasn't on vanilla retail at that time. not only is this a change of gameplay, but change of gameplay for melee based classes.

As far as I'm aware from the video/discussion about that, it was for like 1 mob, and more of a demonstration of attention to detail rather than a flat change to all caster AI. I could be wrong though.

As far as the person talking about the gm commands as being some sort of GG, the entire principle behind it is to allow people to judge for themselves the quality (or lack thereof) of scripting in places like gnomer, SM, BFD, SFK, etc. Testing late game content, like MC/BWL/ZG/etc. is all well and good, but if your low end dungeons aren't scripted well, that sours the experience for a lot of people.
