My account was compromised as well, without sharing accounts or having an easy password. Luckily I was on my account when it happened.

I suggest the people who use the same PW as their forum account to change it, this forum has been compromised in some way.

Quite a sad sight to see where days upon days worth of effort that my friend Cataclysm had put into his character was just wiped away by some cunt. The part that's even worse is that the administration team doesn't seem to care much about people who have had their characters stolen/hacked/deleted.

Genuine question. But how hard would it be to have a system were you link your forum accounts with a ingame account and if anything ever happened or you deleted a toon you would just sign on the website and restore your character. And heck if you fear abuse or overload just give it a 1 week CD or something per account.

Most of the accounts login/password are so complicated that it's impossible to login if you don't have the exact information. Plus the fact that we got an "anti-bruteforce protection" makes it impossible to use a bot for password finding. In most cases, when a player says "I was hacked", you need to translate it to "I lent my account to someone one day and he did bad things on it some hours/days later" or "I bought/sold an account on a website or skype and am trying to change information".

In this case:

* Login username is completely different from the character name, so it's impossible to find unless someone gave it on purpose,
* Forum username of this account is different of his ingame account name,
* This account was used by people from different countries the last 3 weeks,
* Information above clearly show that this player did account's sharing,
* Someone (not the owner) logged into the account, and deleted the character 30 seconds after connecting, meaning he knew the password and connected to the account deliberately to delete the character.

Term of Use clearly state that account sharing is forbidden because there is a high probability that items or gold get stolen, or worse.
It's not possible to restore a character that was deleted from an account.
Player is fully responsible of his/her own account access:

Password should be complicated,
The password should not be shared with anyone,
You should connect from a safe place,
Don't delete your character "for fun".

Any way to match IP of person who logged on to delete character, and find out who the main account holder is?

There you go people and all of you who fell for the 'uh we are so serious! such sad tiems! such niece person sad nao! we gruzzly are such victimz of le system!'-troll: ARE YOU FUCKING NEW TO THE INTERNET?!

Kids (grizzly nerds in this case) lie all the time, why would these guys admit they lost characters after they shared accounts?! It is not allowed, the know it!

They are just pretending it is the system's fault and so on!

Nothing new!

Hope NOBODY ever gets the option to restore characters after the account has been willingly shared multiple times.
