I doubt monkeynews was getting many of those mines. He has to fight elites when there are stealthed rogues already by the mine.

No, it was not. I mined those both before and after the bans on my rogue. There was nothing that would indicate it was a bug at all. In fact, the Ooze-covered Mithril Veins still work exactly the same way. There is nothing to state that the way it works even today is bugged.

The problem here is that the permaban with no warning is flatly uncalled for. The right way to handle this would have been to put a note in the TOU thread, and then change the behavior of the nodes. No bans were necessary. At all.

This is not drama, and not a comment made with emotion. Just factual information. Those five people were banned unjustly, and because that can happen without Nost staff owning up to the fact that it was unjust, it means you play here at your own risk - on every activity that you do.

Anyone who used cartographer for mapping spawns on nodes/herbs on retail vanilla knows the spawn locations were fixed(as in - dedicated farmers).Thing is, most people didn't bother using the addon, since they were on low-pop realms (4-5 servers were maxed, all the rest were medium/low pop) and they almost didn't have competition for these resources.

Say I walk through EPL and in the span of 40 mins, I see 4 black lotuses, and I loot them.By your logic, I should just leave them and not gather, thinking - I can't be this lucky! this will get me banned.

This whole situation is beyond ridiculous.

Seeing 4 black lotuses within 40 minutes in a single zone is a possibility. Therfore you shouldn't think it would lead to a ban.
(I'm assuming it's scripted the way it was during retail)

Anyways I'm expecting another wave of permanent and IP bans related to Silithus, but this time concerning multiboxed-accountshared-industrial lvl of Black Lotus farming/camping using green geared (but with +5 herbalism on gloves, please) rogues alts logging in and out exactly at the same times every hour or so.

lol, used to farm this shit all day, monkeynews might remember a time when i showed him 160 crystals in twitch chat that took like 4 days to farm in silithus

can't imagine how anyone could make the leap to call mining fixed location nodes an exploit, how can you differentiate this from farming fixed location mobs in a circuit? because it generates more gold? because only hunters/rogues can farm it efficiently?

i used to get a lot of whispers when farming devilsaurs (which was better gold/hour, also fixed spawns) of people asking me where they spawn, how to farm them etc, same with the thorium in silithus. anybody who has mined/skinned those two spots knows exactly what i mean, new people come to the zone and give up because they can't find anything, i don't think it's healthy for the server (as in, it should be changed) but it's not exploitative in the least. if you invest time you'll learn all the spots for thorium in silithus (this one you can just google..), all the devilsaur spawns on nostalrius, it's not hard

meanwhile Azshara has fixed 45 min spawns on a lot of rich thorium veins (again easy to google) and nobody is suggesting that mining in that zone is exploiting (less gold = exploit amirite)

"I didn't get to do it, so it must be an exploit".

Get real bitches, instead of crying "exploits" on everything maybe you should focus on not sucking at a 10 year old game.

༼ ▀̿Ĺ̯▀̿ ̿ ༽ This is the Nostalrius Police. We sense some industrial level exploiting going on here. Prepare to be French banned. ༼ ▀̿Ĺ̯▀̿ ̿ ༽
