I got like two heals over the course of every engagement we had, by the time 50% shades had gone out most people were dead and there's still about 2/3 of total boss health (75%+100%) to go through

Didn't help that a bunch of shitter tanks kept taunting and getting everyone shadowbolt volley'd

I very rarely ever see chain heal used on ranged, it mostly just benefits melee. Ranged get to enjoy the garbage mana efficiency and slow cast time of healing wave. But I mean, with the amount of raid damage that was going out healing was very lacking. I miss having paladins just spam everyone with infinite mana flash of light.
