I apologize to OP for going meta discussion on this, but I must get the chance to answer to this idiot's ridiculous arguments.
The Warlock who is slandering me in world chat
I was not slandering you, I was pointing out that the item you are selling was ninja'd by you, as it was. People can draw their own, albeit obvious conclusions.
under the debased and misguided logic that his character is worth more than mine. He thinks that because Robe of the Void says "Classes: Warlock" on it, that he is automatically entitled to it. While yes, this robe could be a potential upgrade for him, the money I will get for selling it will be used to upgrade my character. You are entitled to nothing. Your needs do not trump my needs.
Under that awesome logic of yours, any character could need on anything because the vendor value can be used for upgrades. How smart!
No player is entitled to BoE items with monetary value. If an Alcor's Sunrazor drops, would you automatically pass it to the Warrior because it happens to be his BiS? How about an Elemental Mage Staff? Are you willing to pass up hundreds of gold just because an item happens to be an upgrade for a random stranger in your group? I think not.
I would pass (and have multiple times), and most others would. I rather see someone getting a good item than any person in group just auctioning it off for a few hundred gold. This game is ultimately founded upon trust and solidarity between - exactly - random strangers; not egoism like that of yours. Like me passing the Burial Shaw to you (how ironic), since it's not wlock BiS; like nobody else needing on the RoV pattern in the group; like all the comments in the group chat and world chat after the incident suggested. With your kind of loose cannon behaviour commonplace, there would be no groups to play in.
My post fits the ninja definition of this thread, since you need rolled on a BoE item and did not use it.
