Both Grazzly and Nexiled should just Fucking burn to the ground in deletion. Corrupted hacks both of them.

So are you going to write a long and elaborate apology letter to the Nost team and get all your guildies to join in it as well, you liar?

No, I'm going to thank the Nos admins for actually getting back to us about the issue. I wasn't aware the account had been shared, it's still being looked into if this was the way Cata's character was deleted, since Crilleskin didn't actually share his but still lost his main character.

Also, stop being a whiny little bitch. If there's a security issue, then the community has a right to discuss it here without being called liars.

Again, thank you Viper for taking the time to address these concerns :)

Is logging on from different IPs putting me at greater risk? I have to travel a lot so I wonder if I should diversify and reduce risk by lvling an alt on another server.

Playing devil's advocate here.

Multiple IP addresses doesn't mean anything, what if the guy was playing under a VPN (which Nostalrius actually tells you to do if you are having issues connecting), so maybe the guy just used a VPN to play?

Was the IP address who logged into the account and deleted the character within 30 seconds of logging in the first time that IP address logged into the account? If so, wouldn't that look more like he was hacked in some way rather than account sharing?

If the account actually was shared, well then the owner knows exactly who did this and they can settle it. Just playing devil's advocate here and looking at all the information before making a snap judgement which is what everyone including staff should be doing. Everyone including staff are so quick to demonize a person and make them out to be entirely wrong before even looking at the facts.

Well different countrIES (plural), I don't see a reason to switch your VPN's country too often also, I think the servers logs also could have additional information than just the IP about the players (MAC ID, HWID etc)...but yes, a VPN 'could' still be something also I highly doubt it.

Most people who are sharing accounts do this with trusted ppl and never tell anyone that it is being shared, for obvious reasons....but even then, there are thousands of reports by this kind of people and 'trusted poeple' also can be jerks if there is an argument or they just quit the game (happend so many times to ppl i know).

The stuff about demonizing is simple: There has been accusations about the SYSTEM(nostalrius) would have probably a flaw, problems here, security breaches there and bla bla...turns out it has been just another stupid account sharing bullshit and those people simply lack the balls to admit it.

It is seriously nothing new. It has always been like that, people denying and never admitting in either account sharing or 'downloading a nice helptool (trojan)' and losing their account. Same with cheaters and hackers who wont't even admit stuff even being caught red-handed.

If you're using a free VPN it will usually just randomly assign you a country so it could change quite often unless you pay for one and can choose these sorts of things.

My biggest issue is how secretive the staff are, it's basically "you did something wrong you'll just have to take our word for it" especially when we see how staff have behaved since launch. We're on the same page here, if someone broke the rules they need to suffer the consequences. My beef is that everyone instantly grabs their pitchforks and forms a lynch mob before being presented the facts. This gets in the way of the odd time someone actually does get hacked, or banned incorrectly. This guilty until proven guilty attitude has got to go.

I was following this post with interest as I'm sure many people were because of what was implied and what may be inferred. I was somewhat confused as neither OP nor Viper actually mentioned the toon in question nor did the owner of the toon in question apparently make a contribution to this thread...or did I miss that somewhere?

Everyone gets concerned when doubt creeps into our minds as to the security of the toons we are becoming attached to. I find DeeMarie to be nothing but reasonable when posting. I also find rampant speculation, idle dismissiveness, and downright rudeness to not be productive to any of our issues and further- a waste of energy and akin to creating a circus atmosphere wherein the circus itself is the event and the issues themselves are lost to us.

I also find what macgarthur has said to be nothing but reasonable...as when I was playing retail I signed in from 3 locations in 2 US states every week for 3 years due to work. This is on point. But all of this means nothing without the owner of the toon in question speaking to it and bringing some type of closure to everyone.

Stay on point my friends. Divest yourself of your dislike of others, however it was formed, when posting about subjects like this. If you act to promote the wellbeing of a class of players, which class of players is it you present? That can only be defined by the words with which you form your opinions.
