When me and my brother first started playing I partially gave up because I couldn't find my way in capital cities. I had to be told by my cousin that you can ask guard for directions.

My first ever character was a nelf hunter. When I started playing for the first time, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. I wanted to try out my bow and aimed it at a little critter rabbit cause I thought it would be a suitable first target. Well as I shot at it, the rabbit attacked me, but I now couldn't shoot anymore and couldn't figure out why. So while I was wondering, the rabbit killed me.
Also I:
- was a melee hunter cause I didn't realize that I can get some distance and shoot my bow when pet has aggro
- used aspect of the Cheetah all the time (didn't think getting dazed mattered)
- didn't use any talent points till lvl 33 (this is where I stopped playing that char) cause I thought I was doing good without them, so no need for talents obviously
- equipped the gear that had the most armor or looked the best
- thought I could track horde with Track Beast (this is my favorite)
- thought a two handed sword with strength was the best weapon I could have

In the video "World of Roguecraft" When Mute is killing Trickey in the deeprun tram, you can see my lvl 10 dwarf paladin standing by the entrance and i was watching what was going on

this was my first time in the deeprun tram and i saw this scary undead person killing this very geared rogue. and it scared me, I thought it was some assasin who would murder anybody who wondered over there, and i avoided that spot for years

Pretty classic stuff for me :

- Took me a LOT of time to find my way out of UC the first time. After what felt like an endless wandering another player finally told me where the exit was, but since I didn't really realize I went down in UC through an elevator that was hidden behind a wall when it wasn't at your floor, when eventually reached back the elevator I just saw a wall and went back in the city thinking I just had been trolled or something.

- I thought all the items "... of the Monkey" etc. were what players called an item set.

- I accidentally put my character in "Walk" speed when I was around level 10 and I thought it was some kind of spell, script, feature, bug or something, and it's only maybe 15 minutes later than a friend told me what had happened.

- At first I thought my character would learn his new spells by himself when leveling up, you know just like in Pokemon.

- I disregarded the few items that add +damage because I thought the value was very small compared to what the base damage of my spells was, like "I'm not gonna get +10 damage from that item dude, my Shadowbolt already hits for like 500, it won't really change anything, I'd rather take those two extra stamina points !". It was pretty much the same with +hit to spell. Only +crit had value to my eyes cause I could actually relate to what it did and what critical strikes were.

- Took me a while to understand how I could get up and down when swiming.

- A guild on my server (EU - Garona) was called <Off Warcraft> (and its GM was named World, lolilol). When I first saw someone from this guild in Orgrimmar standing still in front of the AH or wherever it was, I just assumed he was "Off Warcraft" and that characters that were logged off remained in the world standing still like this until they were being relogged in by their owner - all of this despite the fact that I played on a french server with a french client btw.

My first character was the day I bought my PS2. I saw the 10 day trial cd at the checkout at Best Buy and tried it out. I remember being a gnome mage around Christmas and being in Orgrimmar and dying. Then about a year later I played the online trial and was a dwarf hunter. I didn't know what a "paper doll slot" was so when I ran out of ammo I would create a new hunter.

I use to need on items I did not really need, because I didn't know wtf I was doing and when I was called a ninja I thought it was because I was a BADASS SICK DAMAGE DEALER, like a ninja would be, LOL.

I didn't know about professions till around level 40.

In pvp I would stand still and try to fight like I would against a mob in pve

I enjoyed exploration more so than anything else.

I was hooked on the game as soon as I went to a main city and saw the glowy weapons, haha.

I didnt like quests, so I just grinded as a warrior with a shield and axe till level 26.

I clicked my abilities, knowing keybinding was better, but i wanted to prove everyone wrong, hahaha.

I loved pvp yet I always rolled on a pve server and had to afk trick alliance into hitting me and flagging.

There was so much magic back then. Everything was new, there was so much mystery. I was always trying to find secret areas that pertained to lore, great times. So amazed at my first real guild putting up with me. Straight brotherhood. Lost Ronin/Lost Shadows represent - Stormrage.

I got a disgusting oozeling at some point, and realized it debuffed the user. So I put it in the bank and didn't use it again for years.

I always loved when people tried to remove the debuff of mine in Org.

I spent quite a bit of time using a staff on my warrior because the dps was better than whatever axe or sword I had, didn't care about the stats on it. I got a lot of hate from any caster I would encounter, and I was always like "sure I don't use these stats, but have you seen the dps of this thing? you don't use this either"...

One of my first clear memories of the game is when a friend of mine found out about the /me command while we were playing with the emotes. Of course the first thing he does is "/me waves his dick around." and friend #2 was like "omggg how do you do that" So he says "it's /dick" and whispers the right thing to me so I do it too and we start laughing at him. Friend #2 doesn't realize, gets frustrated and goes "how do i wave my dick around??? /dick doesn't work for me wtfff" in the general chat...
