Ironfoe, felstriker, etc should not be farmable at all. the droprate was so low on ironfoe and felstriker 0, something percent. Let's hope it has the correct droprate here (much under 1% at leas) not like on failnix with double felstriker drops LOL. there is only 1 chance. fix droprate now or infest server with ironfoe and felstrikers.

If people are thinking they can effectively farm specific epic drops with PuG's, they are really over their head. Yeah, you might get lucky, but you can just get in to a guild, get in to a group that constantly does shit and is balanced on classes, and GG, you are now doing everything faster, more effective and since classes in group balanced, you will most likely get what you want.

PuG's in vanilla just don't work good enough.

tl;dr - LF good guild.

There exists a marvelous social tool in this game, called a "guild", that allows for easy friendly arrangements of this kind.

Now, one does not always have guildies available and ready to do a specific dungeon to farm this specific item for you, I get that. But in a PU scenario, I see no reason why someone I don't know, doing the same dungeon, would have higher or lower priority than me on an item we both genuinely need. This is where the need/greed roll system comes from.

Of course, if all the group agrees, well fine. Still, this is not a behavior I find desirable. Not only do I tend to avoid such groups, but it will not give me a good image of the player, perhaps even of his guild. If you have something to offer in exchange this is a different story: a group with 3 players of a HL guild will roll on the dungeon much more easily, therefore making it worth it tagging along at the expense of one of the possible loots. All things equal though, I understand and share the reluctance of the OP.

Seriosly? Do you even realise that if you saw a message like:
[Bob from Abracadabra Guild]: LF2M BRD Emp run (dd+healer, Ironfoe reserved)
it doesn't even mean that Bob was the one who reserved Ironfoe? I could be any player of his group, who wish to reserve, and other members of the group is ok with that.
If you don't like "Reserved groups", just don't join them. How many times we have to repeat this? I don't even understand why is that a problem for you people. In life you also sticks your nose in other people's business?
I have a feeling that we are trying to speak with the religious fanatics, whose consciousness is clouded for some reason.
Or it's just trolling.
PS btw, I never reserved the item in WoW.

Oh jeez it didn't occur to me, thank you Captain Obvious.

It's not about "sticking your nose in other people's business". OP starts this thread to remind something that should be obvious: it is not normal to setup groups and reserve items. He gets flamed for that. I disagree. I'm not eager to see half of the PU groups considering it as the norm, either; and yes it can happen. So it doesn't hurt to remind that it is not as widely approved as some seem to think. There is no point arguing about it, it should be self-explanatory. The reason such a thread starts is most likely because it's already starting to be seen in lvl 30 dungeons.

For the record, I've also noticed people calling their contradictors fanatics after 3 sentences are rarely paragons of tolerance themselves, just sayin'.

Let's omit sarcasm: how do you find out who has reserved an item in a Bob's group? You will need this information to create a "image" of the player and his guild, right?

Makai wrote:to remind something that should be obvious: it is not normal to setup groups and reserve items.

"Obvious" and "not normal" to who? And why we have to reckon with their opinion?
I've played on ED from september 2012, i saw "reserved" groups a million times in world chat, and i have not seen any negative attitude towards them. It started here, with a call to boycott and flame out on other people.

Makai wrote:For the record, I've also noticed people calling their contradictors fanatics after 3 sentences are rarely paragons of tolerance themselves, just sayin'.

I do not impose my will on others, and I'm not trying to make one group of people oppress other group of people, as some players in this topic (not you).
Also if you look at the beginning of this thread, you may notice that words like "gtfo, hopes that other people flame them too, pussy" came not from us. And most "Reserve" supporters behave decently and argues quite logically.
PS sorry for bad english.
