Hey it's almost like this exact situation is why threads like this one are cancer.

It might be cancer, but in this case it's a necessary evil for the greater good of the community. There needs to be a place where ninjas are shamed. Obviously this thread is not 100% accurate but there's a lot that have validity in their post.

There doesn't need to be a place where "ninjas are shamed" because 90% of the shit posted in here has nothing to do with ninja looting and almost all of the actual cases devolve into bullshit he-said-she-said arguments over what rules were in place and who agreed to what and who got which item. It's completely fucking pointless and helps nobody, while quite possibly doing a lot of harm to guilds or individuals.

These threads were banned from Blizzard's realm boards on retail for a fucking reason.

Its pretty easy to read between the lines and see who is right and wrong so long as youre not completely fucking retarded

Don't pretend that's going to be true in anywhere close to all situations like this. People can claim different things happened, screenshots can be edited, etc.

In this situation it's pretty obvious that the raid leader got a consensus from the rogues, didn't realize one of them hadn't been in mumble the whole time, and gave it to who they decided should get it without really thinking about it. Shit happens, and if you're in a raid without being on voice when everyone else is you're going to miss important information. I've seen way too many guilds tear themselves to shreds over stupid shit just like this, and making it public only makes it worse.

No but really do you even know what ninja looter actually means or do you just blindly parrot it for "thing that I didn't like"

What it refers to is taking something before other people had a chance to, and in WoW that's pretty much restricted to loot chests like the 7 Dorfs chest or Domo chest. Also devilsaur skinning.

WoW's loot system is explicitly designed to prevent ninja looting by letting everyone roll on things instead of just having them be taken by whoever clicks first. This is basic shit. Someone rolling on a thing you don't think they should roll on is never in any circumstances ninja looting.
