This is still happening. And is worth a bump to perhaps get more rich people into giving good starter packs to our faction. Lvl 5 vendor armor, weapons, and 6 slot bags and some silver for abilities, about 20-50 silver or less spent on each player which will really give a good beggining and a warm welcome to our fellow comrades.

Think about that guys... there's noobs getting ganked by boars in Durotar and here you are obsessing about getting your set items or enchants or fancy stuff for hundreds of golds when just one gold can buy a noob all of his weapon skills.

This is good to see. I am glad there are people like you who are willing to help new players. I will do this as well, once I can level up a bit and save up gold, bags, and equipment to give away. It will also help to spread the word that there are, in fact, many friendly players on Nostalrius, and that it's not a completely toxic community, like so many believe.
Best of journeys in Azeroth, and may nature bless you.

I never hand out gold or silver, but if I find myself with spare 14 slot bags I can't help but give them away freely if someone asks for a tailor to sew them linen bags, because screw linen bags.
Or helping with elite quests, or killing the rogue infernal in Razor Hill.

Never give out too much gold. I can ensure you that giving more than 1 gold to a lowbie will only be bad. They certainly don't need more than that. I've seen some guy quitting so he started giving 10 gold to random people. They were lucky (around 6-7 got 10g), but it would be much better for 1 gold to be given to 60-70 people.

Whatever you give, try to be able to produce it in an industrial level (huehue) so it will be more fair and it can cover the needs of let's say 20-50 players in one giveaway. I'm trying to say is that you should make it as less lucky as possible, the gifts should be able to be given to everyone who asks and you should not run out of stocks at whatever you give, with exception gear you want to get rid of.

For example, if you want to give out 14slot bags, you might want to give only 1 per person, cause they can't be made faster than it can be given.
