It's always said when your opposition in a debate has to lower themselves to a character attack becuase they have nothing left to bring to the table. It is false advertising, the product they are selling is the server. I am paying in my time. Private servers thrive on the players that play there, the community and population is what makes a private server.

They sold us a timeline and a good amount of open communication and all of that suddenly dried up and stopped only 2 months after release. Their absolute lack of communication on this issue indicates that something is wrong, if they had good news they would report it. There is no reason to be so silent and I don't think anyone is jumping to any conclusions we are simply stating the obvious.

Even if they did flat out lie to you about the server, you never invested anything into this game beyond your play time. I'm sorry, you're just being unreasonable that you think they owe you something by virtue of using the legal term "false advertising."

In the event that you only mean that they misled you, fine. That's a fair criticism. But if you want a fair response, you need to be accurate with the words you are using.

I think the only thing anyone feels "owed" is a response to why things have deviated so much. This server was advertised as launching with "everything already done :)" and given a timeline that if was originally adhered to, would have us doing the war effort with AQ on the near horizon today.

It's obvious to anyone without a throbbing croissant down their throat that content is more or less out of the box stock mangos, and that it was indeed false advertising. Nitpick over the wording all you like, I'm sure if you shuffle around my words enough you could spell out anything you like. Fact is that we were lied to and we would like to know what their gameplan is going forward, so we can cut our losses and run or continue to stockpile nexus shards.

This more then anything, you guys saying we have no right to complain are very obviously not guild leaders or officers who have had to see friends and good players disappear into the god damn ether like nothing I've ever seen before. It wears you down pretty fast when you are having to fill spots you thought were good a lifetime and shit even then I keep doing just like all the other guild leaders and officers around here.

I enjoy this server, I have almost 54 days logged, that's a fucking lot! I like this server, I don't want to see it die but this is not my first private server and I know how servers end up with a lack of communication. I just want to know if it's been worth it. Just give me some kind of god damn answer because doing MC with crap loot for four months know is starting to eat at my god damn soul.

I usually try and avoid getting too involved. However I cant help but to back this one up. Motivating players to do content over, over, over and over again for no other reason than keeping the guild-raft afloat is challenging. Nevertheless who knows with these people, maybe that was supposed to be the challenging part of this content all along, sticking together?

I see an analogy between this server and people/nurses that work with elderly people in homecare. They come and they care for this person and provides him/her with what he needs but there is no progression. The person isnt going to get better you're just there to make sure the person have what he needs and medicate him if he is in pain. Are the remaining players Nostalriuses medicine?(Because there is no denying there has been a decline.) As a conclusion of this are we just caring for a dying patient?

Untrue. There have been an admittedly small number of 1.12.1 servers that were up front with their player base of what content would be available on launch, what bugs were being dealt with that the Devs + Admins had the skill to correct, and what timeline of updated content would be followed. If you open the scope of the topic to non 1.12.1 servers to other varieties, there are numerous private servers to mention from 2009 until now that were up front with the players with what they could offer and how fast it would take them.

Nostalrius made bold claims involving both their development team size as well as how long the project had been worked on, as well as advertising videos of what elements this server would offer that no other server project had attempted elsewhere. This was a plain assertion that whatever 1.12.1 experiences other players might have had on other private servers... this one would be better by comparison.

The players were hyped up with big expectations on purpose, and it wasn't their doing. Would it have been better if a policy of truthfulness and a careful series of announcements would be made involving content and goals of the server? Probably. Because that's exactly the kind of thing players have witnessed in other private server offerings.

The timeline was a selling point of the server, which caused many established guilds to roll here over the alternatives, and in the end it was all a machiavellian ruse. Now we are left wondering why the devs and admins are so silent? The two most plausible current theories are that:
1. The dev team fucked off due to being frustrated with the mindblowing incompetence and lack of common sense on the part of the people running the server, and now they are stuck in a bad place.

2. People running Nostradamus are affiliated with sinbaonline and use it as a platform to sell gold for ludicrous amounts of money to westerners.
