See, this is the thing that has made me curious for a while now. The game is 10 years old. People know how to not keyboard turn and how to use macros, have figured out correct Addons to use for raiding, and have this wealth of knowledge involving these ancient encounters with what gear to wear, consumables to farm, enchants and gear to use, etc...

This isn't 2005. People have fast, reliable internet in this age as opposed to the early stage variety of DSL and Cable internet. So when you formed up a 40 man raid back then, you expected people to drop in intensive fights. And that shit doesn't happen now due to ISP quality.

Can someone name me a decent reason WHY an off spec or 5 isn't included in a raid, just for the hell of it? It's not going to do jack-all to the chances of downing an encounter. Is it a peer pressure thing of "well, Bob is a Warlock which is a proper DPS stacking class that he chose to level and be a part of our raid. So this means Walter is a horrible person for showing up as Ret because he's not a part of our core line-up that we depend on for damage."

I mean seriously, what part of Onyxia or MC is all that hard?

Why would you give a raidspot to a subpar specc if you have a proper dps specc to bring? You're gimping your raid for the sake of one player, but then again if you choose to recruit a ret paladin then I guess that's on you.
oh, ok.

So because it's not hard guilds should be obligated to bring offspecs that do much less DPS than a rogue or warrior, when rogues and warriors are extremely populated, just because a guy feels like playing an offspec?

I mean, no knocks on guilds and players that have made other decisions and I am sure they have their reasons, but for us we wouldn't bring one. I'd rather bring any of the rogues or warriors who are waiting for a raid spot and will do 2x or more the DPS. We have plenty of blessings.

BUT GUESS WHO FEEDS SMITE PRIESTS THEIR DMG?!?!?!?!

HMMM, HMMM, HMMM...COULD IT BE HAVING A RET PALLY IN THE SMITE PRIEST'S GROUP FEEDING HIM SANCTITY AURA AND JUDGEMENT OF THE CRUSADER?!?!?

Besides, with consecration stacking with attack power here on Nostalrius and Seal of the Crusader being the DPS seal to use, I find your assertion borderline stupid and asinine.

Wouldn't a better argument be that anyone who is BELOW either the Smite Priest or Ret Paladin be benched?

This is a common fallacy.

No. You do not recruit people to be bottom dps, some people end up getting there and you often reqruit to replace them or at least put pressure on them to improve.

You could obviously recruit a retri paladin to fill up a small roster, but recruiting with the expressed goal of replacing as soon as decent players of other classes come along isn't very nice and thus many (most?) guilds will avoid that.
Pristine realms... Industrial levels of stupidity.

Greetings and congratulations from Purge

Its nice to see that the first legendary weapon dropped already for someone :). As for all the people claiming paladin over warrior.. Im sure a pve oriented guild would much rather give it to a 100% consistent and reliable person who represents the guild, no matter the class.. Than just a paladin. After all you only heal as pala and as alliance it doesnt seem viable using a 2h in pve without WF.
