With 3kgold I would just use 1k/3k to buy the Epic Mount and not feel like im broke after doing it, save 1k extra gold for me and give away from time to time the rest of the gold (1000) to random players so they can be happy.

I would use it to completely corner the market on an item that sees a lot of use (i.e. Runecloth), and then jack up the prices to ridiculous levels, simply to cause a shitstorm. I'd keep you updated, too.
