I couldn't care less about you and that other guy's argument over the meaning of "ninja"; I'm just sick of this thread being 25% your posts bitching about the thread. If you don't like it, why don't you act like an adult/semi-intelligent person and fuck off somewhere? Why would you subject yourself to something that is so unpleasant that you have to make several posts a day about it, every day?

When I see the people posting like "OMG OMG CLOSE THIS THREAD, LIKE WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE TALKING ABOUT THIS IT'S SO STUPID" it basically screams "I'm a selfish asshole and the thought of players getting called out for selfish asshole behavior worries me deeply"

And as someone else pointed out a little while ago, once in a while when there is a "gray area" post - it is PAINFULLY OBVIOUS from the back and forth banter, what really went down. So this great fear that people are getting slandered left and right, is absurd and not worth continuing to mention.

Also, the people saying "ooohhhh someone might photoshop" - in 60+ pages so far, has anyone denied the contents of a screenshot in here? Pretty sure it's been more like "Yes that happened but here is my version of the context, ie why I felt entitled to needroll on that item in that situation." I have not yet seen anyone saying "oh that is BS that didn't happen at all" - so unless someone has evidence that it HAS happened, kindly shut the fuck up about that argument too.

...if you don't like it, move along, the door is right there - for the rest of us, please keep it on topic, and read the title already - it says ninja looters AND PLAYERS TO LOOK OUT FOR. Way to read. Now you can stop arguing about what "ninja" technically includes or doesn't include - go wax your neckbeard and fuck your Japanese sex robot.

This thread should be closed, I have never ninja looted off anyone. Arise has a personal gripe with me because I insulted his intelligence back in the 40's. The amount of party declines I've gotten off this stupid fucking post for no reason is ridiculous. I even have years of raiding experience dating back to 2004, but i'm identified as a ninja looter. You are having a dispute about a stupid BOE (BO FUCKING E) 40 blue that i sold for 3g towards my mount gold, and you are not of the parties involve. Get a life Arise. You even have multiple forum accounts just to back pat your own comments.

Copy/paste of original OP to make sure it won't be lost due to original TS calling it quits. I will keep it running.

I think it's a useful topic and a place is needed to name and shame ninja's, to serve as a warning for all good willing people playing on this server.

To be clear: I take the stance that a ninja is someone who either:
A. takes an item without giving others a chance to roll for it (Switching to Master loot is never okay unless agreed upon by the entire group!)
B. rolls need on an item and then proceeds to sell it. Need = equip. Greed = sell.
This goes just as well for expensive BOE drops.

I'm aware that there are people who disagree with B. But that's up to them. These are the loot rules used for this thread and used by in my experience the vast majority of players.
please keep discussions on this matter out of this topic. You can make a new one for that. Thank you.

Screenshot editing to support fake claims about people due to grudges over drama happened all the fucking time on retail to the point where Blizzard outright banned all threads like this from existing. This thread is not blizzlike.

Nothing about this thread has anything to do with selfish asshole behavior. There are maybe two or three instances of such being actually documented and the rest is either "waaah I lost a roll" or just made up bullshit with no screenshot evidence. Nevertheless, there are people who will just automatically add all names posted in here to their ignore list because they assume whoever is in charge of it actually did the fucking work when they didn't. It's bad for the community.

That's not even touching the fact that the OP hasn't updated the thread in months, making it 100% pointless even to his standards.

I know you don't see it but I really do have a reason for wanting this to stop being a thing. I have seen the negative results of public shame threads on retail servers and I don't want that shit to happen on Nostalrius. It's bad for everyone.

Another thing is, it was the accepted standard to need roll on all boe's right up until the implementation of Need roll = become soul-bound. This was seen as the most efficient way of avoiding shenanigans, or missing out. So accusing me of being a ninja in this case is preposterous. Also defamation-like behavior towards our servers top progressed guilds is not cool. I'm sure a number of these members played when the game first started and understand what I am talking about in regard to loot.
