Another thing is, it was the accepted standard to need roll on all boe's right up until the implementation of Need roll = become soul-bound. This was seen as the most efficient way of avoiding shenanigans, or missing out. So accusing me of being a ninja in this case is preposterous. Also defamation-like behavior towards our servers top progressed guilds is not cool. I'm sure a number of these members played when the game first started and understand what I am talking about in regard to loot.

That was never the "accepted" standard on the retail server I played on during vanilla.

But then again I don't presume for one minute that the experiences that I had on retail are the same as everybody else's across all servers and all regions, and I certainly don't think my experiences are the "one correct way". That's mainly because I'm not an egocentric dickhead.

I played from day 2 on retail, and we most definitely rolled need on blues, especially the valuable ones in pugs. Beyond stupid to not do that in pugs, and if the winner is inclined to give the item to a person who will equip good for them but it's not required.
