Blizzard stance on JoinBattlefield: Allowed.

No. StinkyQueue is legal to use and will continue to be so for as long as Blizzard allows it to be so. When it's no longer legal to use, it will CEASE TO FUNCTION.

In no case will using it get you banned.

any instruction that accesses the .lua interface can be used by the player.

StinkyQueue uses JoinBattlefield as well for group queues.

With that said, its their server and they can do whatever they want with it, but it would be nice to know these rules in advance.

maybe there should have been a server warning or something that this command is forbidden or even totally taken out of the game

This is all we need, everything that is said in this post proves that the GMs are wrong and they should revert the bans and the rep removal.

While it's true this is their server, the community plays a huge part in keeping the server alive to enjoy their work. Feenix made a terrible mistake of banning and slating their ED community and now look where it is. If Nostalrius becomes seen as an unreliably managed server, people will go elsewhere.

A fly hacker or gold seller getting banned is one thing, people playing the game as intended then finding themselves in trouble without warning is an entirely different matter that should concern the entire community.

Given the state of AV, I'm not surprised if this issue wasn't even looked into while hastily blaming players for it. It's blizzlike to use addons such as AVenabler. Most servers disabled it.

You're all making it sound like they intentionally did not remove being able to queue as group (using that API function)...
Pretty sure it was an oversight (aka bug). Abusing bugs is seen as exploiting, I guess that's their reasoning.
I personally do not support these kind of bans without warning if it's not an obvious bug.

I agree with everyone calling for the three players to be unbanned. This was a valid API in retail vanilla and if they didn't want it here, they should have removed it server side.
