Pretty much. While I'm a future tank who isn't planning on charging, it's absolutely supply and demand and tanks have the option to charge.

Who is supplying who in this situation though? If tanks don't have a viable farming alternative to running 5 mans, then aren't they kind of up a creek without 4 other people to help them farm money?
In all honesty a 5 man can be run with hybrid tanks, or lesser equipped tanks and still get the job done. Might take longer, but it can still be done. But, if a pure tank has no other way to farm gold than do 5 man runs, then I think that the supply and demand line may have some serious flaws.

The beautiful thing about the free market, supply and demand is that they are self-correcting. There is a bigger demand for tanks, than there is a demand by tanks to find a group for grinding meaning if the case was like the one you describe above, this wouldnt even be an issue to begin with. If a group dont want the tank providing the service, the tank will simply find a group that does, or turn to an alternative (albeit less efficient) way of grinding, while the group seeking a tank will be back at a non-tank-state.

Tanks can farm themselves or on their alts. It's less effective, but even at less efficiency, they still end up with money. Without a tank you are not even running the instance.

Yes you can recruit the lesser tank to run and not give him special treatment. That's the option. Go for it. People are obviously paying the tanks or this wouldn't be such a hot topic, so the system is working either way. As long as the for-hire tank states his intentions up front about payment, there isn't really an issue.

Totally agree. My only concern was with the hardliners that seemed to think it should basically be mandatory.

Yeah if some fresh 60 with 315 def and 4k hp is demanding reserved loot, he can fornicate himself with an iron stick. If you're paying for the service, you should get some decent level of quality.

Remember, we are talking about raid geared tanks. Who don't need any loot and are basically doing the run for a small compensation.

I use eng dynamite, force reactive disks, grenades, and a few other potions and elixirs to make the run as fast and retard proof as possible. In the end, I don't even make hardly any gold. I'm just trying to help people out for a few gold a piece.

The decision to pay or not is up to the group, I don't take it personally when they don't want to pay. I simply tell them good luck and go back to playing the AH or helping my guild.

This thread summed up:

"I failed economics class."

"I literally have no concept of supply and demand."

"I hate all these mean tanks who ask for compensation to run a dungeon which they outgear or otherwise have no incentive to do! How dare they think entrepreneurially and offer their services to me for a fee?! Fuck those guys!"

"Why can't everything in life be free?"

"I'm clinically retarded and proud of it!"

The same thing i do without anything.
My runs always been free without reserves (happens sometime only if i do same dungeon over 30 times for 1 item) which is not biting anyone .

Join my runs when you see my macro and throw out all the greedy tanks.
(i will start farming dungeons again after 1 week) .

And yes with Paladin Tank runs in Dungeons are fastest ever which Warriors can only dream for that speed.
If Paladin is skilled , he will never drink too.

If you want good , free from reserves and fast runs , if Warriors are too Greedy ?
Find pure PvE Protection Paladin and enjoy in your run.

My recommend (which i am familiar with) Paladins are

"thefishy" (don't remember his in game nick)

"ivanoe" and Killerduki
Cystheen my noob but he play Horde hunter

You will never regret of the run and the speed in it.

Okay okay, we get it, you will spend all your game time on helping other peoples with tanking for free till the end of a Nost.
PS And paladins are the best tanks as well. Dont need to start it here. Again. Please.
