First character was a warrior. I thought the game would be like Diablo 2 where you just slaughter tons of mobs at once and use healing potions to stay alive... Didn't take long to learn there's a cooldown for pots and that I wouldn't be able to fight more than one thing at a time.

Lol that's majestic! :D
I thought this was a dating site?

Awesome thread !

First real character I (seriously) "lvled" was a shaman, up to lvl 46.
PvP ranks got implemented and I never left Hillsbrad for Tarren Mill vs Southshore battles during several weeks, still lvl 46 and without a mount, using Ghost Wolf to keep up with the horde pack and chase evil allies.

I thought I had to spam the attack button.
My char must have been level 20+ before I realised I shouldn't.

I remember leveling my first char during TBC. I was a total noob so I was just enjoying going out and exploring the world. I think I was around level 30-40-ish when I decided I was going to take a look around through Deadwind Pass. I traveled south and found this great big castle looking thing and discovered I could run up it quite a ways. Then I discovered a portal into the castle, but couldn't get in. Next thing I know I see a group of level 70's come up on the bridge where I was standing. I asked them "What is this place?" One of them replied "Some call it Hell...but others call it...KARAZHAN!!!"
Lol, played off my noobishness and totally clowned me.

-Awesome- thread, just found it :) Great read!

Ah, and more memories...Doing the Druid Quest for Aquatic Form...Never heard of Westfall. Stormwind, what's that? Deeprun Tram? No, doesn´t ring a bell!
And I wasnt that active in general Chat, to ask everywhere, so here is how it went;

Okay! I figure out I have to leave Kalimdor, got it, I made it through Wetlands, dying a few times, not that big a deal, get to Ironforge. But only AFTER I spend ages in the start area for Dwarves and Gnomes, going into the cave far south thinking, that it leads to...Elwynn Forest/ Stormwind. Yep, you heard me! I couldn´t see another way to get there. Because it seemed that way on the map. (Bare in mind, I played without AddOns back then, not a lot of "map" discovered either :p) But after hours of trying, I went back, ended up n Ironforge, and someone finally answered in chat, directing me to the tram. Hah, it still makes me smile.

To this day, getting that Quest done still seemed more epic than most I did later on (And I raided Nax in the end, lol!) I didn´t use Thottbot (haha, I know!) either at that point, (and didn´t discover the Auction House before level 40ish either), so I spent ages searching for half of that Pendant Quest item in Westfall, and kept getting Fatigued in the water.

Oh, geez! I want to make a Druid now, just to do it all over again, knowing it wont be the same, of course. :)

I have a ton more of these, but that´ll have to do, for now! Good evening o/

Edit;
Lol! I just remembered something else.

My computer back then almost couldn´t handle the Auction House in Ironforge because of all the people, so...I wanted to find another Auction House, less populated. I heard there was on in Gadgezan but I went there, and it seemed -too- empty. So I discover that there should be one in Orgrimmar.

I didn´t know that town, but thought, let´s give that a try. So I ran and ran, died on the way. I was swimming and swimming...It wasn´t untill I ENTERED and noticed I got PvP-enabled that I put two and two together...ORG...rimmar....Ooooh, I see! (Yes I played Alliance) Oh, wow, I almost forgot that :)
