You, and i mean ppl like OP, tend to think "omg they kill the server if they dont do anything" (titanic rip).
They will take the steps needed to keep it running for their purpose, which in this case is way more centered around the community, unlike every other pserver i have seen so far.
Just take the chill pill and enjoy your time here gees.

I'm starting to think they don't care about the community as much as we were originally led to believe. What happened to their "English only" rule? The server has been flooded by non-English speaking players and all they've done is accuse people of racism for complaining.

I play Vanilla as much for the community as the gameplay, but having a super-massive population that's fractured by language barriers only creates conflict and frustration.

12k is not exactly a dream when the game was only designed to handle a quarter of that. Good luck farming or questing once you hit level 30.

In My opionion they cared too much in terms of the community. Consider the hideous changes regarding the pvp queue system they made. Too many people are complaining on the forums which made them change in-game mechanics without informing the community about it. For example :
I can live with the disabled multi queue, because it decreases the amount of dodging and win trading in ranking. But I disagree when you say the language barrier is a problem. Sure it is problematic when you try to communicate with players who don't speak English. But the rules enforce English in general chat . Personal communication is up to you, I recently got in contact with Chinese players and they could give me a portal. I sure was communicating via /emotes and trading 50 silvers but I still got my portal. In terms of endgame situations you most likely won't be in a situation where you can't get what you want even if they can not speak English, since you group up with ppl who can speak English.
As much I am against racism I am also against generalisation. Chinese players have their right to play here. If you have problems communicating with players of other languages it's up to you. I am here on this server since day one, do you think the leveling is harder now after the dynamic spawn rate for mobs and herbs/nodes? I take your point in population regards, a server with over 10k ppl at "peak" times might be too much, but for now it is bearable. Nost staff will come up with a solution if the pop is getting too high to play normally which in my opinion is not the case right now.
Don't take my answer too personal, I didn't play vanilla back then but I played on many pservers. There are a lot of problems Nost have to deal with which blizzard didnt have to. For me they are doing a great job. If the pop goes over 15k another server is indeed needed imo. How they will manage is up to them. Splitting the pvp server one the same patch state might be a good way, but how will players decide to move?
After all this is by far the best wow experience I ever had, considering playing retail for atleast 6 years.
Please forgive my english it's not my native language. Kind regards crix

Greetings,

please make an in-game ticket with a screenshot of the players speaking in public chat channels in other languages.

no problem more players = cheaper mats / consums = better for raid loggers

Except that's not what happens at all. More players = more competition for mats = everything with a static supply becomes more expensive.
you think it be like it is but it's don't

Questing can be rather tough as most spots are overcamped. However, the biggest problem / difference to vanilla, in my opinion, is ganking.

Yes, of course guild mates or other level 60s can come to help when that stuff is going on - but let's be rather honest, empirically, how often does somebody actually come to help when people are being ganked?

I think it's rather fair to say that at any given time, and yes that did include original vanilla too, there are always more people ganking than people defending. (And even if numbers are equal; the 60s can still easily 1-shot lowbies while fighting the defenders).

Now on Nost, there are what, 4-5x more players than on an actual vanilla server, meaning there's also a significantly higher number of gankers in each zone.
It's still playable, but it definitely feels like you encounter entire zones or areas which become essentially unplayable every day, which is something that only happened very rarely back in the day for me.

Of course at the same time, it's nothing the Nost team could address themselves without breaking away with vanilla concepts (adding guards to zones or something), so probably just something we have to live with.

You've mentioned a new server a couple times now. Is there anything to back that up, or is it purely wishful thinking?
