Noob Memories

My first characters were all trolls for some reason. Spend most of my time ignoring any quests and mobs and just running all across the world to see as much zones as possible. Ended up running through felwood, jumping down at the waterfall, corpse pushing through auberdine to make it to Darnassus. Stuff like that.

Didn't really bother me that I would die non stop, at least I had the silithus flight point.

Rolled a night elf male priest (as purepwnage introduced me to wow and teh_pwnerer made a male ne priest too)

I thought that Hearthstone was a one-time use consumable that you receive from the inn every time you make it your home. I was always scared of getting lost and never used the hearthstone. I didn't realize the game had a map until level 12.

yea , it's so sad we are who changed, and not the game. Sure retail may be shit but this isn't like back in the old days, just a weird simulation.

I still remember i was killing boars and selling stuff for hours just to buy all the white pieces on the goldshire's blacksmith, then i went to westfall as lvl 6-8 and those harvest machines wrecked me... haha

Taking a boat from Menethil Harbour to Dustwallow as 30, with the intent of going to Darnassus to pick up my teleport spell. Take detour through Stonetalon Mountains, end up in Desolace southern part before finding Nijels Point in north. Run back through Stonetalon up through Ashenvale after figuring out how to cross Morshan Rampart as an ally.
Use 3-4 hours on foot running all that. When I finally got to Auberdine a friend of mine logged in and asked me what I was doing, he then told me about the other boat... Ahh good times.

Gosh, I can't remember most of my low level noob memories which I am sure were many.

I do know that I had died many times while leveling and did not realize I had to repair my gear until I asked my friend what that "red knight" image was.

I do have a noob moment while in MC.
After wiping on Ragnaros for some reason I thought he would not engage in battle unless you attacked him so I was getting back into position and well..."By fire be purged!"

My most vivid noob memory:
2006. Leveling nelfie druid (FEMALE OFCOURSE) in Feralas. I climbed on the hill and saw full group of hordies right in front of me, as well they are spotted me. I "tabbed" through them, and all of them have like 2-3% of health. I don't know why, maybe they were fighting some hard elite just a moment before.
Moment of silence. I'm watching at them, they are watching at me.

Made and released a WoW version of the film ‘Predator’, dubbing over the voices onto WoW characters – didn’t know about private servers or models – filmed everything on a live server using live actors from my guild. Thought this was how all the movies were made.

I rolled a warrior in vanilla on launch, after carefully considering all the classes and thinking “Hmm this is my first MMO, I’d better pick something easy to learn the ropes so people don’t get angry at me for doing things incorrectly – I’ll be a tanking warrior, that sounds nice and relaxed, just standing there and letting enemies hit me and defending my group, what could be difficult about that?”

Completely boggled my mind that people would want to do a dungeon more than once. Wtf? We killed the boss. Why would we want to go back?

I didn’t bother learning any ranged skill. Body/charged pulled my way through everything, including scholomance. Finally during one LBRS a rogue got exasperated with me for not using my bow. Lol why do I need a bow? I’m a warrior. I have a sword. I’ve never even equipped anything in that slot. WTF you talking about bro? Cue buying a bow and going to skill up later by shooting level 5 mobs outside ironforge.

Got to rank 10 often with 1 hour plus queues alliance side. Why did I put up with this? Very shortly after changed to horde on my server and enjoyed 0 min queues from there on in.

Only keybinds were 1-4. Clicked everything else. Made and released two pvp videos like this. Nobody commented on this because apparently we all did it back then on our server.

I spent over 4 days of /played in Loch Modan, as a mage. no idea how to get out or what to do, still have him and hes still in Loch Modan

In my desperation for gold and mining addiction, I lvld my 51 dwarf hunter at the time on retail in EPL, only killing mobs while trying to get all the rich thorium veins. He only had what he found/made which included PCB, mining helmet, mithril bullets, whites and greens. Those were trying times back then, but I wanted those arcane crystals! He did not have a mount.

Like Arucado, my first char was dwarf warrior who I kbps to 35 all the way to wetlands. Idr how I got by w/I any blues/greens, but was arms and only got white gear from the latest town blacksmith. Was really frustrated with him, which made me go hunter. :p

One of my biggest noob moments was being stranded in Teldrassil for a few weeks because I didn't know how to get to Stormwind Docks. I was level 24-25 and other Nelfs were asking why I was still leveling at home territory. This was a month into the game after launch. There were really no real sources or guides at the time and was all player to player communication. Since I was too stubborn to ask another Nelf I tried swimming to SW (which didn't work out).
